Regular Season Round 5: Mega BG - FMP BG 82-89

The most interesting game of round 5 was a derby match between two teams from Serbia. The game took place in Beograd where fifth ranked FMP BG won against host Mega BG (2-3) 89-82. FMP BG made 19-of-20 free shots (95.0 percent) during the game. FMP BG had a 25-14 advantage in offensive rebounds. American guard Bryce Jones (183-94, college: Murray St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points and 4 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). His fellow American import guard Garrett Nevels (188-92, college: Hawaii) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Jones is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. FMP BG's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Scoochie Smith (188-94, college: Dayton) answered with 17 points and 5 assists and center Nikola Jovic (208-3, agency: BeoBasket) added 12 points and 6 assists in the effort for Mega BG. Five Mega BG players scored in double figures. FMP BG (4-1) moved-up to second place, which they share with Crvena Zvezda and Buducnost. Mega BG lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. FMP BG is looking forward to face Zadar (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Mega BG's supporters also look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Beograd to the arena Crvena Zvezda.
