Regular Season Round 14: Partizan NiS - Zadar 103-72
Date: January 3, 2022
The game between second ranked Serbian Partizan NiS (11-2) and 11th ranked Croatian Zadar (4-10) in Beograd on Monday ended with biggest points difference. Partizan NiS outscored guests from Zadar 103-72. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Zadar. Partizan NiS dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Zadar's 40. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Center Balsa Koprivica (215-0, college: FSU) notched 17 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and forward Rade Zagorac (204-95, agency: BeoBasket) supported him with 17 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Five Partizan NiS players scored in double figures. Even 14 points by American swingman Justin Carter (193-87, college: Creighton, agency: Alti Sport) did not help to save the game for Zadar. Forward Tomislav Buljan (205-2) added 16 points for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Partizan NiS maintains second position with 11-2 record having just three points less than leader Crvena Zvezda. Defending Croatian champion Zadar keeps the eleventh place with ten games lost. They share the position with Borac CA. Partizan NiS will meet at home bottom-ranked Split (#14) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Zadar will play against SC Derby and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
