Regular Season Round 18: Cibona - SC Derby 90-75

There was a small surprise in Zagreb where eleventh ranked Croatian Cibona (6-10) beat 9th ranked Montenegrin SC Derby (6-10) 90-75 on Saturday. Cibona forced 24 SC Derby turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Argentinian point guard Jose Vildoza (191-96, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored 18 points and 6 assists. Bosnian swingman Amar Gegic (200-98, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. Five Cibona players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Bosnian center Kenan Kamenjas (207-0, agency: BeoBasket) who recorded 20 points and 8 rebounds and American point guard Erick Neal (178-95, college: UT Arlington) added 16 points and 9 assists respectively. SC Derby's coach tested eleven players and allowed the starting five to rest. Cibona moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Borac CA and SC Derby. Cibona will meet at home bottom-ranked Split (#14) in the next round where they are favorite. SC Derby will play against Krka (#13) and hope to secure a win.
