Regular Season Round 19: Zadar - FMP BG 83-80

There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked Croatian Zadar (6-11) edged at home 4th placed Serbian FMP BG (10-7) 83-80 on Sunday. It was a great evening for point guard Martin Junakovic (188-94, agency: PEPI SPORT) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points, 6 assists and 4 steals (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). American center Trevor Thompson (210-94, college: Ohio St.) helped adding 13 points and 9 rebounds. Zadar's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side point guard Marko Radonjic (191-93) responded with 13 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and forward Danilo Tasic (207-93, agency: 011 Sports) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Defending Croatian champion moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Borac CA. FMP BG lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with seven games lost. They share it with Cedevita Ol.. Zadar will meet league's leader Crvena Zvezda in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. FMP BG's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Beograd Partizan NiS.
