Regular Season Round 23: Krka - FMP BG 60-93

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Serbian FMP BG (12-9) crushed bottom-ranked Slovenian Krka (4-17) in Novo Mesto 93-60 on Sunday. FMP BG dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Krka's 36. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Bryce Jones (183-1994, college: Murray St.) who led the winners and scored 19 points and 8 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Nigerian power forward Ebuka Izundu (208-1996, college: Miami, FL) accounted for 16 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Jones is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five FMP BG players scored in double figures. Croatian-Slovenian point guard Rok Stipcevic (186-1986, agency: PEPI SPORT) came up with 15 points and 4 assists and power forward Jurij Macura (211-1999, agency: BeoBasket) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Krka in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. FMP BG moved-up to fifth place. Loser Krka dropped to the bottom position with 17 games lost. FMP BG will meet at home Borac CA (#9) in the next round. Krka will play against the league's leader Crvena Zvezda (#1) in Belgrade and hope to secure a win.
