Regular Season Round 12: Helios Suns - Pelister 85-81

Very expected game when 12th ranked North Macedonian Pelister (3-9) lost to third ranked Slovenian Helios Suns (9-3) in Domzale 81-85 on Wednesday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The winners were led by forward Blaz Mahkovic (201-1990, agency: Interperformances) who scored that evening 32 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals (perfect from downtown making all six shots !!!) and Bine Prepelic (200-2001) supported him with 13 points and 9 rebounds. Four Helios Suns players scored in double figures. Even 18 points and 8 rebounds by Serbian forward Nikola Malesevic (202-1989, college: URI) did not help to save the game for Pelister. Point guard Boban Stajic (185-1993) added 9 points and 8 assists. Pelister's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Helios Suns have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Borac BL. Loser Pelister dropped to the eleventh position with nine games lost. They share it with Lovcen. Helios Suns will meet bottom-ranked Osijek (#14) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Pelister will play against Spars and hope to secure a win.
