Regular Season Round 26: Split - Zadar 80-92

One of the most interesting games of round 26 was a derby match between two teams from Croatia. Twelfth ranked Zadar won against host Split (6-19) 92-80. Zadar shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 56.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American swingman Justin Carter (193-1987, college: Creighton, agency: Alti Sport) notched 15 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and guard Dominik Mavra (195-1994) supported him with 8 points and 11 assists. Even a double-double of 15 points, 14 rebounds and 9 assists by American Shannon Shorter (193-1989, college: N.Texas) did not help to save the game for Split. Slovenian-Croatian guard Maj Kovacevic (192-1990, agency: BIG) added 24 points for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Defending Croatian champion maintains twelfth position with 8-16 record. Loser Split keeps the thirteenth place with 19 games lost. Zadar will meet at home higher ranked SC Derby (#7) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Split will have a break next round.
