Regular Season Round 26: Cedevita Ol. - Cibona 80-84

There was a surprise result when eighth ranked Croatian Cibona (10-14) won against higher ranked Slovenian Cedevita Ol. (16-8) in Ljubljana 84-80 on Sunday. Center Danko Brankovic (215-2000, agency: BeoBasket) notched 20 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and Argentinian point guard Jose Vildoza (191-1996, agency: Octagon Europe) supported him with 9 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Cibona's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even 21 points and 7 rebounds by swingman Zoran Dragic (196-1989, agency: Network Sports International) did not help to save the game for Cedevita Ol.. Center Alen Omic (216-1992, agency: BeoBasket) added 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all six shots) for the hosts. Four Cibona and five Cedevita Ol. players scored in double figures. Cibona maintains eighth position with 10-14 record. Defending Slovenian champion Cedevita Ol. keeps the fourth place with eight games lost. Cibona will meet league's second-placed Partizan NiS in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Cedevita Ol. will play against Borac CA and hope to secure a win.
