Regular Season Round 8: MZT Skopje - Mega BG 94-82

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both top-ranked North Macedonian MZT Skopje and bottom-ranked Serbian Mega BG had identical 0-0 record. This time MZT Skopje used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Beograd 94-82 on Sunday night. MZT Skopje looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by American point guard Mike Caffey (183-1993, college: LBSU, agency: Players Group) who scored that evening 14 points and 8 assists and the other American import guard Brae Ivey (188-1997, college: SJSU) supported him with 15 points and 6 assists. Even 18 points and 5 rebounds by Serbian Nikola Djurisic (203-2004, agency: BeoBasket) did not help to save the game for Mega BG. French Malcolm Cazalon (198-2001, agency: BeoBasket) added 14 points for the guests. Five MZT Skopje and four Mega BG players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending North Macedonian champion (1-0) left bottom position moving up to fourteenth place, which they share with 18 other teams. Loser Mega BG still closes the standings with one game lost. They share the position with 18 other teams. MZT Skopje will meet Igokea (#41) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Mega BG will play against Borac CA (#31) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
