Regular Season Round 8: FMP BG - Igokea 89-77

Everything could happen in Beograd at the game between two tied teams. Both top-ranked Serbian FMP BG and bottom-ranked Bosnian Igokea had identical 0-0 record. This time FMP BG used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Aleksandrovac 89-77 on Sunday night. FMP BG made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. FMP BG outrebounded Igokea 34-22 including 22 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by Nigerian power forward Ebuka Izundu (208-1996, college: Miami, FL) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Trent Frazier (188-1998, college: Illinois) supported him with 15 points and 5 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). FMP BG's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 18 points and 7 rebounds by Serbian forward Nikola Tanaskovic (204-1997, agency: BeoBasket) did not help to save the game for Igokea. American guard Bryant Crawford (191-1997, college: Wake Forest) added 14 points and 4 assists for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. FMP BG (1-0) left bottom position moving up to fourteenth place, which they share with 18 other teams. Defending Bosnian champion Igokea still closes the standings with one game lost. They share the position with 18 other teams. FMP BG will meet bottom-ranked Zadar (#56) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Igokea will play against MZT Skopje (#34) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
