Regular Season Round 11: Partizan - FMP BG 90-86

One of the most interesting games of round 11 was a derby match between two teams from Serbia. The game took place in Beograd where fourth ranked Partizan won against visiting FMP BG (8-3) 90-86. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Partizan dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to FMP BG's 36. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Australian guard Dante Exum (198-1995) who led the winners and scored 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Power forward Alen Smailagic (208-2000) accounted for 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Aleksa Stepanovic (206-1998) came up with 17 points and 5 rebounds and Lithuanian guard Paulius Valinskas (191-1995) added 11 points and 8 assists respectively for FMP BG in the defeat. Five Partizan and four FMP BG players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Partizan (9-2) moved-up to second place. Loser FMP BG dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. Partizan will meet Igokea (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. FMP BG will play against SC Derby and hope to secure a win.
