Regular Season Round 22: Cedevita Ol. - Cibona 91-85

There was no surprise in Ljubljana where 10th ranked Croatian Cibona (8-14) was defeated by fourth ranked Slovenian Cedevita Ol. (15-6) 91-85. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Cedevita Ol. made 21-of-26 charity shots (80.8 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Cibona was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of center Alen Omic (216-1992, agency: BeoBasket) who helped to win the game recording 13 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Swingman Zoran Dragic (196-1989) contributed with 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Cedevita Ol. players scored in double figures. Point guard Borna Kapusta (182-1996) replied with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 5 rebounds and 14 assists and Lovro Mazalin (204-1997) added 17 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) in the effort for Cibona. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Defending Slovenian champion moved-up to third place, which they share with Buducnost. Defending Croatian champion Cibona keeps the tenth position with 14 games lost. Cedevita Ol. will play against league's leader Partizan in Beograd in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Cibona will play at home against FMP BG (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
