Regular Season Round 24: MZT Skopje - Zadar 84-80

There was an upset when higher ranked Croatian Zadar (10-14) was defeated on the road by bottom-ranked North Macedonian MZT Skopje (5-19) 84-80 on Friday. The best player for the winners was Serbian Strahinja Micovic (205-1992) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. American point guard Mike Caffey (183-1993, college: LBSU, agency: Players Group) chipped in 21 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Luka Bozic (200-1996) who recorded 21 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and Bosnian forward Dario Dreznjak (204-1998) added 17 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Defending North Macedonian champion maintains fourteenth position with 5-19 record. Zadar lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 14 games lost. They share the position with Split and SC Derby. MZT Skopje will meet higher ranked Split (#8) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Zadar will play against Cibona in Zagreb and hope to secure a win.
