Regular Season Round 5: FMP BG - Split 84-66

There was a minor upset in Beograd where 10th ranked Croatian Split (1-3) was defeated by twelfth ranked Serbian FMP BG (2-3) 84-66 on Friday. French guard Hugo Besson (191-2001) stepped up and scored 24 points for the winners and center Marko Pavicevic (209-2002) chipped in 20 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Center Kresimir Ljubicic (210-1998, agency: AltusBasket) responded with 16 points and 7 rebounds and guard Toni Perkovic (191-1998, agency: AltusBasket) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. FMP BG moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Borac CA and Mega BG. Loser Split dropped to the eleventh position with three games lost. FMP BG will meet higher ranked Igokea (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Split will play against the league's second-placed Partizan (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
