Italy are the U16 European champions. They edged Czech Republic in Kaunas tonight to earn the trophy. Meriem Nasraoui (185-C-02) posted 15 points to lead the Azzurri. Italy piled up a 31:22 halftime lead. They followed with a 17:10 rally in the third period to ensure a 16-point advantage. Czech Republic managed to pull within three points in the final quarter but Italy held on to secure the winning outcome. Ilaria Panzera (178-SG-02) accounted for 11 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists for the champions. Petra Malikova (178-G-02) provided 12 points and 9 rebounds for Czech Republic.
3-4 Place
Spain - Turkey 64-47
Spain climbed onto the pedestal in Kaunas. They beat Turkey to finish third at the championship. Begona De Santiago (183-G-02) and Marta Suarez (188-SF-02) provided 12 points apiece in the win. Spain accumulated a 35:26 halftime lead. They held Turkey to just 7 points in the fourth stanza to march to the win. Hungary - Poland 78-59
Hungary earned the seventh place in Lithuania as they ended up their campaign with a comfortable win over Poland. Hungary secured a 45:28 halftime advantage. They poured in 26 points in the third term to ensure a comfortable lead and never surrendered it to march to the win. Reka Dombai (179-F-02) unloaded 32 points to lead Hungary. Magdalena Szymkiewicz (183-C-02) replied with 23 points for Poland.

9-10 Place
Latvia - Germany 49-45
Latvia wrapped up their campaign on a winning note. They held off Germany to earn the ninth position. Germany led by as many as 10 points ten minutes into the game. But Latvia replied with a 21:5 run in the second frame to take a 26:20 halftime lead. The Baltic team held Germany to 9 points in the fourth period and snatched the win. Kristiana Koltone (176-F-02) banked in 15 points for Latvia. Amelie Kroener (189-F/C-02) answered with 11 points and 10 rebounds for Germany.

11-12 Place
Lithuania - Denmark 60-59
Lithuania nipped Denmark in their final game at the championship and occupied the 11th overall position. The hosts posted a 36:29 halftime lead. Denmark erased the deficit and eked out a one-point lead heading into the fourth frame. But Lithuania managed to sneak past their opponents to finish on a high note. Audrone Zdaneviciute (167-PG-03) chipped in 14 points, while Simona Visockaite (185-C-02) added 13 points and 14 rebounds for Lithuania. Alberte Rimdal (175-G-02) had game-high 25 points for the Scandinavian team.

13-14 Place
Croatia - Belgium 46-64
Belgium earned the crucial win in Kaunas. They beat Croatia to secure Division A stay for the next season. Belgium dominated throughout the bigger part of the game. They posted a 32:19 halftime advantage. Belgium extended the lead to as many as 19 points at the final intermission and never looked back en route to the victory. Julia Franquin (185-F-03) scored 12 points and collected 10 rebounds, while Tesse Kapenga (186-PF-02) and Marit Vloeberghs (172-G-02) had 11 points each for Belgium. Petra Juric (186-PF-02) answered with 15 points and 10 rebounds for Croatia.

Holland - Serbia 65-79
Serbia finished the tournament with victory as they edged Netherlands for the 15th-place finish. Serbia grabbed a 43:39 halftime lead. They held Netherlands to just 26 points in the second half to ease to the victory. Nina Samardic (180-SF-02) posted 17 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Italy nipped Spain to reach the championship series. The Azzurri grabbed a 27;22 lead after ten minutes. They maintained the lead throughout the second term. Italy grabbed a 36:31 halftime lead. Spain pulled within 3 points at the final intermission. They held Italy to 13 points in the fourth frame but could not avert the defeat. Caterina Gilli (181-SF-02) came up with 25 points and 17 rebounds to pace the winners. Martina Spinelli (184-F-02) added 10 points for Italy. Marta Garcia (190-F/C-02) replied with 14 points for Spain.

Czech Republic - Turkey 48-37
Czech Republic are the first finalists in Kaunas. They toppled Turkey in the semifinal clash tonight. Czech Republic piled up a 27:21 halftime lead. They went on a stunning 14:2 run in the third term to take a decisive 18-point lead. Simona Fiserova (181-F-02) had 9 points for Czech Republic. Spain coasted past Poland in the quarterfinal clash. Spain led from start to finish to earn a well-deserved win. Spain went on a 31:10 run in the second term to take a massive 45:13 halftime lead. Spain never looked back afterwards. Alejandra Sanchez (174-G-02) netted 15 points, while Laia Lamana (170-PG-02) added 11 points and 9 steals for Spain. Zuzanna Rudenko (174-G-02) answered with 12 points for Poland.

France - Italy 59-61
Italy nipped France to advance into the semifinal stage in Kaunas. Meriem Nasraoui (185-C-02) scored 19 points to lead the Azzurri. France posted a 17:14 lead after ten minutes. They established a 49:45 advantage heading into the fourth quarter. But Italy limited les Bleues to just 10 points in the final frame and snatched a tough victory at the end. Turkey - Belgium 60-38
Turkey thumped Belgium for the initial victory at the championship. Turkey grabbed a 43:19 halftime lead. They held Belgium to just 5 points in the fourth frame to rally to the win. Melek Uzunoglu chipped in 18 points, while Sude Yilmaz (178-SG-02) added 12 points and 10 rebounds in the victory. Tesse Kapenga (186-PF-02) banked in 16 points for Belgium.

Group B
Spain - Latvia 96-66
Spain coasted past Latvia in the opener. The teams were knotted up at 32 heading into the locker rooms. But Spain unleashed 64 points in the second half to roll to the victory. Mama Dembele (168-G-02) delivered 16 points, while Marta Garcia added 12 points for the winners. Juta Harcenko (180-F-02) had 12 points for Latvia.

Serbia - Holland 54-48
Serbia outscored Netherlands in the first game in Kaunas. Netherlands grabbed a 15:11 lead after the opening frame. But Serbia went on a massive 37:11 rally in the next two quarters to surge ahead. Netherlands responded with a 22:6 rally in the fourth stanza but came up short of victory at the end. Sara Opacic (174-SG-02) tossed in 19 points and collected 11 rebounds, while Isidora Mladenovic (182-SF-02) had 10 points for Serbia. Maud Huijbens (189-C-02) deposited 16 points for Netherlands.

Group C
Croatia - Poland 63-95
Magdalena Szymkiewicz (183-C-02) notched 22 points to lead Poland past Croatia. Poland piled up a comfortable 45:27 halftime lead. They unleashed 50 points in the second half to coast to the win. Joanna Kobylinska (177-SF-02) netted 17 points for Poland. Antica Tabula (183-C-02) had 12 points for Croatia.

Italy - Hungary 79-51
Italy cruised past Hungary for the opening win. The Azzurri grabbed a 35:27 halftime lead. Italy followed with a 28:12 run in the fourth period to seal the win. Giorgia Bovenzi (165-PG-02) netted 17 points in the victory. Reka Dombai (179-F-02) answered with 12 points for Hungary.

Lithuania - Denmark 71-58
Lithuania got to the winning start of the tournament. They toppled Denmark behind 18 points and 9 rebounds from Urte Cizauskaite (186-F/C-03). The hosts went on a 21:7 run in the first term. Denmark pulled within 6 points at the final intermission. But Lithuania sank 20 points in the fourth quarter to secure the victory. Simona Visockaite (185-C-02) had 15 points and 18 rebounds in the win. Asta Blau chipped in 16 points for Denmark.

Germany - Russia 43-51
Russia outgunned Germany for the first win in Lithuania. Nina Ulchenkova (175-G-02) delivered 13 points for the winners. Russia accounted for a 24:20 halftime lead. They limited Germany to just 23 points in the second half and marched to the victory. Emilia Tenbrock (182-SG-02) posted 14 points for Germany.

But Sweden pulled within one at the final intermission. The Scandinavian team went on a decisive 17:6 rally in the fourth quarter to ensure the victory. Sanna Strom (177-F-02) came up with 15 points, while Julia Nystrom (169-PG-02) added 14 points for the winners. Eleni Bosgana (189-SF-03) answered with 13 points for Greece.

3-4 Place
Finland - Belarus 86-52
Finland stepped onto the pedestal in Podgorica. They beat Belarus to earn the third position and also booked their Division A tickets for the next season. Belarus led by a single point at the first break. But Finland triggered a massive 46:18 run in the second half to celebrate the victory. Janette Aarnio (178-F-02) produced 19 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for Finland. Teresa Seppala (182-G-02) and Alexandra Ailus (168-G-02) had 15 points each for the winners. Ukraine enjoyed a 16:8 lead after the opening quarter. But Estonia managed to level things up in the next periods and forced overtime. Montenegro claimed the 11th overall place at home championship. They edged Norway on the final day of action in Podgorica. Montenegro grabbed a 31:19 halftime lead. Slovakia earned the 13th position in Podgorica as they defeated Ireland today. The Irish side led by five points at halftime 31:26. But Slovakia held their opponents to just 3 points in the third term to even the score. Slovakia went on a 15:13 run in the fourth quarter to eke out victory. Matilda Ekh (181-F-02) added 12 points and 9 rebounds for Sweden. Adriana Martins (166-G-02) replied with 13 points for Portugal.

Finland - Romania 77-54
Finland cruised past Romania in the quarterfinal clash today. Finland led throughout the game. They established a comfortable 44:29 halftime lead. Finland used a 20:10 run in the third term to clear off for good. Belarus toppled Israel in double-overtime thriller to enter the semifinal stage in Montenegro. But Israel denied the deficit and posted a 4-point lead heading into the fourth period. Belarus held their opponents to just 12 points to force overtime. Sweden held Montenegro to just 27 points in the second half and drove to the win. Matilda Ekh (181-F-02) produced 17 points and 10 rebounds, while Julia Nystrom (169-PG-02) added 15 points in the victory. Zana Tatar (182-F/C-03) tossed in 14 points for Montenegro.

United Kingdom - Greece 24-58
Greece bruised Great Britain for the fifth straight win in Group A. The Hellenes recorded a 29:16 halftime lead. Greece held Great Britain to just 8 points in the second half and cruised to the victory. Danai Papadopoulou (193-C-03) had 23 points for Greece. Luxembourg knocked down Kosovo to open win count in Group C. Luxembourg piled up a 39:30 halftime lead. They limited Kosovo to just 29 points in the second half and eased to the victory. Ireland - Switzerland 58-55
Ireland are now 3-1 in Group C after they edged Switzerland. Ireland recorded a 17:8 lead after the opening frame. Ireland sank 34 points in the second half and marched to the win. Ukraine - Bosnia 60-38
Ukraine beat Bosnia to take 3-1 record in Podgorica. Ukraine grabbed a 20:12 halftime lead. They used a 30:8 massive rally in the third term to clear off for good. Lidiya Dzhus notched 16 points and 9 rebounds, while Anastasiia Kucheronok (175-F-02) added 13 points for Ukraine. Hena Spahic (170-G-02) replied with 17 points for Bosnia.

Norway - Albania 73-35
Norway breezed past Albania to clinch the first win in Group D. Norway posted a 24:10 lead ten minutes into the game. They triggered a 37:14 second half run to march to the victory. Belarus - Norway 77-42
Belarus ensured the third consecutive win in Group D. They coasted past Norway behind 26 points and 13 rebounds from Iryna Venskaya (165-G-02). Finland edged Bosnia for the third straight win in Group D. Bosnia led by 2 points at halftime. However Finland triggered a 24:11 run in the third term to surge ahead. They followed with a 22:9 run in the fourth stanza to ice the win. Janette Aarnio (178-F-02) came up with 20 points and 8 steals, while Kati Ollilainen (173-G-03) added 16 points for the winners. Greece - FYR Macedonia 83-41
Greece coasted past FYR Macedonia for the second win in Podgorica. Greece accounted for a comfortable 42:24 halftime advantage. They sank 41 points in the second half to ease to the win. Lamprini Polymeni (173-G-03) notched 16 points for the Hellenes. Ilina Selcova (170-PG-02) responded with 17 points and 8 rebounds for FYR Macedonia.

United Kingdom - Sweden 43-60

Estonia limited Slovakia to just 12 points in the final quarter and snatched the win. Asi Anna notched 16 points and 7 rebounds for Estonia. Austria - Scotland 69-48
Austria were crowned champions at the FIBA U16 Women's European Championship 2018, Division C after completing their undefeated march to gold in Moldova, with a well-deserved win over Scotland in the Final. Having led from tip-off to the final buzzer, the Aldin Saracevic-coached team secured a 69-48 victory on Sunday to put a knot on Austria's maiden medal in official FIBA youth competitions. It took a while for the Austrian side to pull away from Scotland, but forceful second-half performances by Charis Kluger (173-G-02) and Veronika Heiss (178-F-02) proved enough to get the job done. Only two possessions separated the sides after the first half, but a 9-0 run for Austria early in the third quarter broke the game wide open and proved to be the turning point, as the margin grew to 42-29. Kluger led all scorers with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 5 steals, Heiss collected 13 points and 5 rebounds, while Sophie Baydanov (176-G-03) and Sarah Winkler (177-F-02) added 8 points apiece. For Scotland, Rose Harvey (175-SG-03) and Jannike Marshall (185-SF-03) had 15 and 12 points, respectively.

Group 3rd Place
Moldova - Georgia 50-51
Georgia joined Austria and Scotland on the podium after defeating tournament hosts Moldova 51-50 in a captivating thriller for third-place, with Nino Gadelia (168-PG-02) stealing it for the visitors with a game-winning basket with 11 seconds left to play. Gadelia and Keti Danelashvili (178-F-02) both double-doubled with 18 points apiece, while Fiama Troian (175-SF-02) had 15 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists for Moldova.

Malta - Wales 47-43
Malta signed off on a high note, edging out Wales for a 47-43 victory in the Classification Game for 5th place

Division C: Day 4 in Moldova, Austria and Scotland are going in big final - Jul 8, 2018

Scotland - Georgia 63-57
In much more closer game Scotland managed to beat Georgia and place their names into big final against Austria. Amazing performance from Sophie Loughran (188-C-02) as she scored 24 points with 12 rebounds for double-double game against her name. Marie Morrison scored 8 points, she had 3 rebounds and 6 assists. In losing team of Georgia Nino Gadelia (168-PG-02) played stunning game with 20 points and 4 rebounds.

Austria - Moldova 82-37
Austria did it! Very easily they managed to outscored Moldova in big game as it's Semifinals of European Championshio U16 Division C for Womens. They outrun them, outscored them and completely dominated entire game, from first to last minute. End results says everything and that's 82:37 for Austrian team. Only one player didn't score anything in this game for Austria but everyone else had at least 2 points. Best performance we saw from Sarah Winkler (177-F-02) with 14 points, she was followed with same amount of points from Sophie Baydanov (176-G-03). In a first battle for fifth place in this tournament Malta easily won a game against Gibraltar and will be playing last game on this tournament for fifth place against Wales on July 8. Three players combined 33 points and 17 rebounds for Malta. Ylenia Bonett (170-PF-03), Marie Buhagiar (172-PF-03) and Sasha Lecuyer (172-SG-02). In Maltese team Adriana Villada (174-G-04) scored almost half of the points for her team as he scored 12 out of 25 of Maltese points in this game. She grabbed also 5 rebounds.

Wales - Monaco 51-46
Isobel Bunyan (180-F-04) shined in victory of Wales against Monaco. 15 points and 16 rebounds game for true MVP and led her team in another victory on this tournament. Monaco was close but not that close enough to manage to take victory from Wales side. Fanny Voulfor (175-C-02) had 15 points and 5 rebounds for losing team.

Georgia - Malta 38-57
Despite being on the receiving end of a 57-38 defeat against Malta in the other game, Georgia progressed to the Semi-Finals as the second seed, edging out Malta and Monaco in a three-way tie thanks to a 37-point win over the Monegasque players on the first day of the tournament.

Austria - Monaco 69-26
In their final contest in Group A, the Austrian side cruised to a 69-26 win against Monaco to ensure a first-place finish with a 3-0 record.

Group B
Gibraltar - Wales 38-34
Gibraltar surprised Wales with a 38-34 upset earlier in the day, Adriana Villada (174-G-04) scoring exactly half of the winning team's points.

Scotland - Moldova 57-53
After wins against Wales and Gibraltar, Scotland secured the top seed in Group B with a hard-fought 57-53 victory against tournament hosts Moldova, who also moved into the Medal Round after coming out on top in a three-way tie between teams with 1-3 records.

Georgia - Austria 49-80
Sarah Winkler (177-F-02) starred for Austria in Group A once again. The 16-year-old forward netted 21 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to help her team inscribe an 80-49 victory against Georgia in a battle of two previously undefeated teams.

Malta - Monaco 59-66
The Philippe Beorchia coached Monaco team erased a double-digit fourth-quarter deficit to triumph 66-59 in extra time against Malta, with Hermance Marti (165-SG-03) leading the way with an unforgettable 26-point and 7-rebound performance.

Group B
Wales - Moldova 53-48
After losing their opening Group B fixture to Scotland, Wales also celebrated their maiden win in Chisinau, outlasting tournament hosts Moldova 53-48 in overtime behind the second consecutive double-double by Isobel Bunyan (180-F-04), who finished the game with 12 points, 12 rebounds and 5 steals.

Gibraltar - Scotland 34-71
Meanwhile, the Rose Harvey (175-SG-03 -led Scotland moved to 2-0 in the standings with a convincing 71-34 triumph over Gibraltar after locking down defensively and not conceding a single point in the fourth quarter.

Monaco - Georgia 40-77
Georgia didn't allow Monaco to do any surprise in this game. 40:77 for Georgia with every quarter in their favor is what is the end result of this game. Maia Dvali (178-F-02) scored 17 points with 10 rebounds for double-double game for her, she was followed with good performance today with Nino Gadelia (168-PG-02) with 20 points and 5 rebounds. Hermance Marti (165-SG-03) scored 16 points for losing side of Monaco.

Austria - Malta 111-22
Easy win in the opener for Austria against Malta. Bench players scored 78 out of 111 points for Austria. Austria won every quarter in this game but most efficient was last one when they scored 29 and allowed Malta only 2 points. 11 out of 12 players scored at least 4 points in Austria, but most efficient was Sarah Winkler (177-F-02) and Charis Kluger (173-G-02), both with 17 points. In losing team Sasha Lecuyer (172-SG-02) scored 9 points.

Moldova - Gibraltar 62-45
Last quarter was something that decided this game. After halftime Moldova had only 6 point lead (31:25), but they break through this game and won it last 10 minutes with 18:8. Starting five players shined for Moldova as they scored 42 out 62 points in their win. Moldova also out-rebounded Gibraltar with 24 more rebounds alongside their name (59:35). Fiama Troian (175-SF-02) scored 21 points with 20 (!) rebounds. Absolute MVP of the game. Adriana Villada (174-G-04) led Gibraltar team with 23 points and 7 rebounds.

Scotland - Wales 61-48
Second quarter was decider for Scotland National Team in this game, they ended that quarter with +8 victory for halftime result of 31:23. That helped them a lot as they played more calmly in second part of the game so they didn't let Wales to do any surprise. Biggest difference in this game was better shooting for Scotland for 2PT. Scotland was having 25/66, while Wales had 17/64. Winning team was led by Sophie Loughran (188-C-02) and Marie Morrison (165-PG-03), they combined 23 points and 20 rebounds. For Wales best was Isobel Bunyan (180-F-04) with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
