Argentina - Estonia 78-65 Argentina defeated Estonia to improve at 2-1 record in Group C. Erik Thomas (196-F-95) scored 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Latin American side. Argentina piled up a 40:33 halftime lead. They controlled the tempo in the second half to ice the win. Matias Solanas (192-G-98) had 13 points in the victory. Siim-Markus Post (183-PG-97) replied with 16 points for Estonia.
Group D
Mozambique - Lithuania 35-122 Lithuania stormed past Mozambique to gain 2-1 record in Group D. Seven players scored in double digits for the Baltic team. Ignas Vaitkus (196-SF-93, agency: Octagon Europe) and Regimantas Miniotas (206-C/F-96) produced 19 points each for the winners. Lithuania recorded a 49:18 halftime lead. They added 73 points in the second half to cruise to the win. Justas Tamulis (194-SF-94) notched 13 points in the victory. Jonas Faduco (188-G-94) provided 13 points for Mozambique.
Ukraine - Russia 72-65 Ukraine held off Russia to remain unbeaten in Taipei. Oleksandr Kobets (197-SF-96) delivered 18 points in the win. Ukraine posted a 33:26 halftime lead. Mexico - Taiwan 88-90 Taiwan improved at 2-1 record in Group A following a tough win over Mexico. Chen Ying-Chun (183-PG-93) delivered 22 points, 7 assists and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Mexico claimed a 50:48 halftime advantage. Taiwan bounced back with a 24:12 rally in the third quarter to secure a 10-point advantage at the final break. Mexico sank 26 points in the fourth quarter but could not avoid the defeat. Tsung-Han Huang netted 20 points for the winners. Alejandro Villanueva had 22 points and 10 rebounds for Mexico.
South Korea - Hungary 81-91 Hungary rallied past South Korea for the first win at the tournament. Balazs Peringer (210-C-96) produced 22 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. South Korea enjoyed a 44:42 halftime lead. But Hungary went on a 30:19 rally in the third term to spur ahead. They maintained the lead throughout the fourth quarter to seal the win. Latvia - Serbia 87-90 Serbia narrowly edged Latvia to post the third win in a row in Group A. Ilija Dokovic (185-G-96) scored 21 points and handed out 7 assists for the winners. Finland - Norway 70-63 Finland outscored Norway to gain 3-0 record in Group B. Harold Aidoo notched 12 points in the win. Finland claimed a 22:7 lead ten minutes into the game. Taiwan - Hungary 75-61 Taiwan overcame Hungary for the opening victory at the tournament. Chien You-Che (180-SG-95) tossed in 18 points for the winning side. Taiwan accumulated a 37:25 halftime lead. They extended the margin at 21-point mark heading into the fourth frame and never looked back en route to the win. Chen Ying-Chun (183-PG-93) recorded 15 points and 8 assists for Taiwan. Japan unloaded 54 points in the first half to gain a 19-point halftime lead. Hong Kong cut the deficit in the second half but could not avoid the loss. USA - United Arab Emirates 127-53 USA coasted past United Arab Emirates for the second straight win in Taiwan. Ryan Cline (196-G-97) notched 20 points and 7 boards in the victory. Estonia - Romania 74-72 Estonia nipped Romania for the second straight win in Group C. Mihkel Kirves (190-F-96) was unstoppable with 34 points and 12 rebounds for the Baltic team. Czech Republic - Argentina 49-87 Argentina crushed Czech Republic for the first win in Group C. Jeremias Sandrini (184-PG-93) tossed in 19 points to lead the effort. Argentina trailed by three points after ten minutes. But they unloaded 55 points in the next two periods to take a comfortable lead that they did not surrender till the final buzzer. Carlos Buemo (194-G/F-96) netted 13 points in the win. Marek Sehnal (196-F/G-96) and Vaclav Bujnoch (200-C-93, college: Des Moines Area CC) notched 11 points each for Czech Republic.
