Czech Republic - Brazil 69-67

Czech Republic have been crowned the World University Games champions. They narrowly defeated Brazil to conquer the trophy. Jan Zidek (206-F-1999) stepped up with 24 points and 9 rebounds to pace the winners.
Czech Republic jumped to a 16-13 lead after ten minutes of action. Brazil however picked up the tempo in the second frame and tied things up at 34 heading into the second half. Czech Republic sank 17 points in the third stanza to eke out a single point advantage at the final intermission. The teams traded baskets throughout the intense fourth period as the Europeans hung on to snatch the victory. Vojtech Sykora (189-G-2001), Lubos Kovar (203-F/C-2000) and Martin Svoboda (202-C-2001) delivered 9 points each for the champions. Paulo Barbosa (189-G-2003) answered with 17 points and 7 rebounds for Brazil. Caio Pacheco (189-PG-1999) had 14 points in the defeat.
