Brazil survived an overtime thriller to beat USA for the 2025 World University Games title. Adyel Borges (190-G-2002) came up with 25 points to pace the Latin American side.
USA went on a 26-9 run in the second period to gain a comfortable 43-29 halftime lead. They extended the margin at 22-point mark heading into the fourth period. But Brazil responded with a furious 35-13 rally in the final quarter to send the game into overtime. Brazil sank 14 points in the extra period to snatch the victory. Reynan Dos Santos (192-G-2004) provided 18 points for the champions. Obinna Agbim (190-G-2002) replied with game-high 30 points for the USA. Cameron Carr (196-G-2004) had 26 points in the loss.

Obinna Agbim, 22-year old American guard earned the Most Valuable Player at the World University Games. He plays For the Baylor University in the B12. Michael Rataj, 21-year old German forward was named the Best Forward of World University Games. He plays For the Oregon State University in the WCC. Rataj was also voted to the First Team. Martin Svoboda, 23-year old Czech center was voted the Best Center at the World University Games. He plays For the Srsni Photomate Pisek. Svoboda was also selected to the First Team. His playmaking prowess was on full display as he secured the third position in points per game averaging over 17 and fifth spot in rebounds per game with an impressive average of almost 8. Svoboda had double-doubles in 2 games during the event. His 34 points against Poland were the most he scored at the tournament. Among many awards he won the Czech Republic 1.Liga championship title in 2023.
Dominykas Stenionis, 22-year old Lithuanian point guard was chosen to the First Team of World University Games. He plays For the Panevezys 7bet-Lietkabelis. Stenionis recorded over 15 points per game at the event. He led the World University Games in assists per game with over 8. Stenionis logged double-doubles in 2 games during the event. His 24 points against South Korea were the most he scored at the tournament.
Reynan Dos Santos, 21-year old Brazilian guard was named to the First Team at the World University Games. He plays For the Esporte Clube Pinheiros Sao Paolo.
