USA celebrated Gold medals in Naples. They outmuscled Ukraine in the championship game tonight. John Newman (196-G) scored 20 points and grabbed 7 rebounds for the champions. USA grabbed a 28:15 lead after ten minutes. They followed with a commanding 20:8 run in the second period to boost the gap. Ukraine slowed their opponents down in the second half but could not overcome deficit and had to surrender at the end. Aamir Simms (203-F) produced 12 points and 6 rebounds for the USA. Sergiy Pavlov (205-PF-97) replied with 15 points and 13 rebounds, while Vitaliy Zotov (188-PG-97) chipped in 14 points for Ukraine.
3-4 Place
Israel - Australia 69-86
Australia stepped onto the pedestal in Naples. They outgunned Israel to earn Bronze. Dejan Vasiljevic (190-G-97) stepped up with 33 points to lead the charge. Germany defeated Canada to clinch the fifth position. Karim Jallow (198-SG-97) came up with 28 points for the winning side. Jan Niklas Wimberg (206-F-96) provided 18 points and 9 caroms for Germany. Brody Clarke (206-F-96, college: Alberta) and Ali Sow (183-PG-98) delivered 12 points each for Canada.

Argentina knocked down Latvia to celebrate the seventh position in Naples. Erik Thomas (196-SF-95, college: New Orleans) came up with 17 points and 10 rebounds for the Latin American side. Finland - Croatia 80-78
Finland nipped Croatia to end up in the 9th position in Italy. Finland wrapped up their campaign on a high note as Remy Raitanen scored 13 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. Andre Gustavson (193-G-99) had 12 points for Finland. David Skara (203-F-95) answered with 20 points and 9 rebounds for Croatia.

11-12 Place
Czech Republic - Italy 89-67
Czech Republic earned the 11th position at the tournament. They upset Italy in Naples tonight. Six players scored in double digits for the winners. Martin Peterka (205-C-95) posted 19 points and 9 rebounds, while Viktor Pulpan (191-PG-96) added 17 points for the Czech side. Federico Mussini (188-G-96, college: St.John's) replied with 20 points for Italy.

Norway - Mexico 79-77

Ukraine advanced into the championship game after they nipped Australia in the semis tonight. Sergiy Pavlov (205-PF-97) came up with 23 points to pace the winners. Viacheslav Petrov (204-F/C-94, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) added 15 points for Ukraine. Will Magnay (208-F-98, college: Tulsa) responded with 20 points and 16 rebounds for Australia. Ukraine trailed by two points at halftime. But they used a 22:19 run in the fourth frame to snatch the win.

Israel - USA 73-75
USA are the first finalists in Naples. They nipped Israel in the semifinal clash. Aamir Simms (203-F) scored 27 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to pace the winners. Israel jumped to a 26:12 lead after ten minutes. But USA responded with a 29:15 run in the second term to tie things up at 41. Israel regained the lead as they entered the fourth term up by two points. However USA sank 24 points in the final quarter to snatch the win. Al-Amir Dawes (188-G) had 16 points for the winners.
