Regular Season Round 20: Olimpija - Partizan NIS 89-87

A very interesting game took place in Ljubljana. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of higher ranked Serbian Partizan (10-10) to ninth ranked Slovenian Olimpija (8-12) 89-87 on Saturday evening. The best player for the winners was Gregor Hrovat (196-94) who scored 22 points and 4 assists. American Devin Oliver (204-92, college: Dayton) chipped in 13 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Olimpija's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American guard Nigel Williams-Goss (191-94, college: Gonzaga) produced 23 points and 7 assists and his fellow American import point guard Kwame Vaughn (190-90, college: CS Fullerton) added 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the guests. Four Olimpija and five Partizan players scored in double figures. They have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending Slovenian champion moved-up to eighth place. Partizan at the other side keeps the fifth position with ten games lost. Olimpija's next round opponent will be higher ranked FMP (#6) in Beograd and it may be quite challenging game. Partizan will play at home against the league's second-placed Buducnost and will have a slim chance for a victory.
