Qualifying Round Day 6: ARGENTINA - CANADA 57-67
Date: July 8, 2009
Canada raced past Argentina on the final day of the qualifying round to secure the quarterfinal appearance at the U19 World Championship in New Zealand. Canada will now face the unbeaten USA on Friday for a chance to play in the semis. Canada could have finished in the third spot in Group F but Kelly Olynyk buzzer-beating trey rimmed out leaving the North American in the fourth position. Cory Joseph provided 20 points for Canada. Mangisto Arop added 18 points in the winning effort. Lisandro Rasio answered with 14 points and 7 boards for Argentina. Luciano Gonzalez had 12 points in the loss.
