USA repeated as U119 World champions. They held off ambitious France in the title game in Riga today. Kenneth Lofton Jr. (201-F-02) and Jaden Ivey (193-G-02) came up with 16 points each to pace the winners. USA eked out a 21-19 lead after ten minutes of action. France however struck right back in the second term. les Bleues surged ahead to ensure a 42-37 halftime lead. France maintained the advantage throughout the third period. They entered the fourth frame up by 5 points. But USA quickly denied the deficit and spurred in front in the fourth quarter. Kenneth Lofton Jr. and Michael Miles (F) gave USA an 83-76 lead late in regulation and they hung on to lift the trophy at the end. Adam Miller (190-G-02) chipped in 12 points for the champions. Victor Wembanyama (219-F/C-04) replied with 22 points and 8 rebounds for France. Louis Lesmond (197-F-02) tossed in 13 points in the loss.
3-4 Place
Canada - Serbia 101-92
Canada stepped onto the pedestal in Riga. They held off Serbia in the consolation final. Bennedict Mathurin (198-G/F-02) stepped up with 31 points to lead the North American team. Canada jumped off to a 33-22 lead after ten minutes. Serbia responded with a 32-17 run of their own to take the lead. But Canada finished the game on a 27-18 run in the fourth period to snatch the win. Ryan Nembhard (183-PG-03) delivered 21 points and 10 assists for Canada. Mihailo Musikic (213-C-02, agency: BeoBasket) answered with 25 points for Serbia.

5-6 Place
Spain - Lithuania 86-81 OT
Spain survived an overtime thriller versus Lithuania to occupy the fifth overall position at the World Cup. Lithuania enjoyed a narrow 34-33 halftime lead. Lithuania entered the fourth quarter up by two points but Spain erased the deficit and forced overtime. They followed with a 16-11 run in the extra term to snatch the win. Ruben Dominguez (197-SG-03) accounted for 28 points for Spain. Aitor Etxeguren (205-F/C-02) had 15 points in the victory. Azuolas Tubelis (208-F-02) answered with 20 points and 15 rebounds for Lithuania.

7-8 Place
Senegal - Argentina 75-67
Senegal held off Argentina to clinch the 7th place. Khalifa Diop (211-C-02) delivered 23 points and 15 rebounds to pace the winners. The teams were tied at 35 heading into the second half. But Senegal went on a 25-12 run in the third term to clear off for good. Baye Ndongo (205-SF-03) tossed in 14 points and collected 14 rebounds for the winners. Gonzalo Corbalan (191-F-02) replied with 18 points for Argentina.

9-10 Place
Australia - Turkey 52-56
Turkey earned the ninth place in Latvia as they beat Australia in the final day. Turkey overcame a slow start to go on an 18-10 run in the third term. Australia narrowed the deficit in the fourth period but came up short at the end. Sarper Mutaf (197-G-02, college: Minnesota) delivered 12 points, while Yigit Onan (207-F-02) added 11 points for Turkey. Akoldah Gak (208-F-02) replied with 10 points and 10 rebounds for Australia.

11-12 Place
Latvia - Iran 71-63
Latvia finished home championship on a high note. The hosts held off Iran to end up in the 11th place. Latvia build a 24-20 halftime lead. Iran cut the deficit to a single point heading into the fourth quarter. But Latvia sank 28 points in the final period to ensure the victory. Davis Denafs (191-F-02) finished with 20 points, while Toms Skuja (184-PG-02) added 13 points in the win. Parsa Fallah (201-C-03) responded with 25 points and 11 rebounds for Iran.

13-14 Place
Puerto Rico - Mali 92-95 OT
Mali nipped Puerto Rico in overtime in the game for the 13th place. Ladji Dembele (192-G/F-03) came up with 17 points to lead the effort. Puerto Rico grabbed a 38-33 halftime advantage. But Mali bounced back in the third quarter using a 25-11 rally to spur ahead. Puerto dropped 28 points in the fourth term to force overtime. But the African side nailed 18 points in the extra period to secure the victory. Bourama Coulibaly (190-G-02) delivered 15 points for Mali. Aaron Clark (03) responded with 23 points for Puerto Rico.

15-16 Place
South Korea - Japan 95-92
South Korea topped Japan in Riga to earn the 15th place in the championship. Jun Seok Yeo (206-C/F-02) came up with game-high 36 points and 12 rebounds to lead the winners. South Korea went on a 24-19 run in the third term to take decisive lead and protected it well throughout the fourth quarter. Kim Donghyun (187-F-02) had 17 points for the winners. Ibu Yamazaki (200-F-03) responded with 32 points and 9 rebounds for Japan.

USA are the first finalists in Riga. They held off their North American counterparts Canada in the first semifinal clash of the day. USA looked dominant in the first half. They established a 49-38 halftime lead. Canada sank 25 points in the third term to narrow the gap at 6-point mark. Canada worked hard in the fourth quarter but their opponents protected the lead and raced to the victory. Kenneth Lofton Jr. (201-F-02) produced 16 points and 7 rebounds, while Mike Miles (188-G-02) contributed 15 points for the winners. Caleb Houstan (203-F/G-03) responded with 23 points for Canada. Bennedict Mathurin (198-G/F-02) banked in 19 points in the loss.

France - Serbia 75-69
France advanced into the championship game in Riga. They held off Serbia to set up the clash versus USA for the title. Serbia got to a quick start. They jumped off to a 23-13 lead ten minutes into the game. But France gradually took over. They cut the deficit to 6 points at halftime. les Bleues pulled within 4 points at the final break. They followed with a strong 22-12 rally in the fourth quarter to snatch the win. Serbia eked out a 42-36 halftime lead. They extended the margin to 10 points heading into the fourth term. Argentina dropped 30 points in the final quarter but could not avoid the loss. France breezed past Mali in Round of 16. Canada stormed past Senegal for the third straight win in Latvia. The North American side dominated from start to finish to win Group A. They established a 50-26 halftime lead. Iran jumped off to a 29-23 halftime lead. But Latvia answered with a strong 24-10 run in the fourth term to snatch the victory. Ricards Vanags (201-G/F-02) chipped in 10 points for the hosts. USA - Mali 100-52
USA cruised past Mali for the second straight win in Group D. USA sank 55 points in the first half to take a 19-point lead. USA followed with a strong 45-16 run in the second half to ice a comfortable victory. Caleb Furst (207-PF-02), Kenneth Lofton Jr. (201-F-02) and Jaden Ivey (193-G-02) produced 14 points each for the winners. Oumar Ballo (213-C-02) and Mohamed Sidibe (196-F-02) replied with 9 points each for Mali.

Serbia topped Puerto Rico to stay perfect in Group B. Nikola Jovic nailed 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the winning side. The teams went neck and neck throughout the first half. They were tied at 39 after twenty minutes. But Serbia used a massive 30-7 run in the third term to clear off for good. Lazar Stefanovic (198-G-02) had 15 points in the win. Argentina claimed the second straight win in Riga. They breezed past South Korea to stay perfect in Group C. Six players scored in double digits for the winners. They unleashed 63 points in the second half to ease to the win. Juan Fernandez (211-C-02) added 15 points for Argentina. Canada stormed past Japan for 2-0 record in Group A. Japan led by two points at the first break. But Canada stepped on the gas in the second frame. Turkey enjoyed an 18-7 lead after the first period. Australia unloaded 27 points in the second term to secure a 34-34 tie game at halftime. Australia regained the lead in the third frame to secure a 3-point lead at the final break. But Turkey responded with an 18-13 run in the fourth quarter to snatch the win.
