Spain captured the title in Debrecen. They overcame France in the overtime thriller in the championship game tonight. Spain therefore returned on top of the U19 World Cup podium for the first time since 1999. Jordi Rodriguez (199-F-2004) accounted for 18 points to lead the champions. Spain eked out a 19-18 lead ten minutes into the game. But France held their opponents to just 9 points in the second period to snatch a 29-28 halftime lead. France stretched the lead to 2 points heading into the fourth period. But Spain unloaded 22 points in the fourth term to force overtime. Rafael Villar (193-F/G-2004) hit a bunch of free throws in the extra period to give Spain a 72-69 lead. Melvin Ajinca (202-F-2004) had two attempts from behind to arc to pull France back into the game but missed both of them as Spain got away with the win at the end. Rafael Villar delivered 17 points for Spain. Melvin Ajinca answered with 21 points for France. Zacharie Perrin (207-C-2004) notched 14 points and 20 rebounds in the defeat.
3-4 Place
Turkey - USA 84-70
Turkey stepped onto the pedestal in Debrecen. They outgunned USA in the consolation final to claim Bronze medals. Tan Yildizoglu (192-PG-2004) scored 20 points and issued 8 assists to pace the winners. Turkey recorded a 39-33 halftime lead. They unloaded 45 points in the second half and raced to a comfortable win at the end. Berke Buyuktuncel (202-F-2004) posted 19 points for the winners. Dylan Harper (193-G-2006) responded with 15 points for USA. Cody Williams (203-F-2004) had 12 points in the loss.

5-6 Place
Argentina - Serbia 87-71
Argentina earned the fifth position in Hungary as they toppled Serbia in the final game. Serbia led by 5 points at halftime 41-36. But Argentina unloaded 51 points in the second half to snatch the victory. Lee Aaliya (205-F/C-2004) had 18 points, while Dylan Bordon (190-G-2004) netted 15 points for the Latin American side. Filip Borovicanin (206-F-2004) notched 21 points and 14 rebounds for Serbia.

7-8 Place
Canada - Japan 107-58
Canada cruised past Japan to finish in the seventh place in the championship. Canada dominated from start to finish. The North American team posted a 53-31 halftime lead and never looked back en route to the win. Jordann Dumont netted 21 points, while Cyril Martynov (213-F-2004) and Xaivian Lee (190-G-2004) produced 15 points each for Canada. Tajon Jacobs (200-F-2004) and Yuto Kawashima (201-F-2005) responded with 14 points each for Japan.

9-10 Place
Slovenia - China 85-76
Slovenia clinched the 9th place in Debrecen as they held off China. Jan Zemljic stepped up with 23 points, 7 assists and 5 rebounds for the Europeans. China led by three points heading into the fourth term. But Slovenia triggered a 24-12 rally to secure a tough win at the end. Jan Vide (195-F/G-2005) delivered 19 points for Slovenia. Haoran Wang (205-F-2004) tallied 16 points for China.

11-12 Place
Brazil - South Korea 75-68
Brazil overcame South Korea to end up in the 11th position at the championship. Reynan Santos (192-G-2004) came up with 16 points for the Latin American side. South Korea led by four points at halftime 37-33. But Brazil ignited a 42-31 second half rally to snatch the win. Leandro Inacio delivered 14 points for Brazil. Yujin Lee (173-F-2003) replied with 21 points for South Korea.

13-14 Place
Egypt - Madagascar 104-64
Egypt finished in the 13th place in Debrecen. They ended their campaign with a comfortable win over Madagascar. Egypt grabbed a 59-30 halftime lead. They erupted for 28 points in the third term to take a massive 38-point lead and cruised to the win. Belal Elshakery (199-F-2004) tossed in 24 points, while Ibrahim Zahran (196-G-2004, college: Frank Phillips) added 14 points for Egypt. Matthias M'Madi answered with 22 points for Madagascar.

15-16 Place
Lebanon - Hungary 73-66
Lebanon claimed the 15th overall position as they rallied past hosting Hungary today. Lebanon secured a 38-33 halftime lead. They held Hungary to 11 points in the third term to open a 12-point lead and raced to the victory in the final stanza. Karl Zamatta (202-C-2006) accounted for 24 points, while Karim R'Tail added 11 points for Lebanon. Kornel Csuti (203-F-2004) and Robert Sagodi dropped 12 points each for Hungary.
