USA punched their Final tickets in Heraklion. They stormed past Lithuania in the semifinal clash on Saturday. Jalen Green (196-G-02) dropped 18 points to lead the winners. USA posted a 44:32 halftime lead. They unloaded 58 points in the second half and eased to the win. Jalen Suggs (196-G-01) connected for 15 points for the North American side. Justinas Ramanauskas (192-F-00) answered with 10 points for Lithuania.

Mali - France 76-73
Mali continued their miraculous run in Heraklion. They topped France in the semifinal clash. Fousseyni Drame (198-F/G-00) and Oumar Ballo (208-C-02) tallied 17 points and 11 rebounds each to pace the African team. Mali went on a 26:14 run in the second term to take a 39:33 halftime lead. France held their opponents to just 15 points in the fourth term but came up just short of the win at the end. Abdoul Coulibaly netted 15 points for Mali. France answered with 18 points and 8 rebounds from Mathis Dossou-Yovo (202-C-00).

USA celebrated World Cup title. They beat Mali in the championship game tonight. Cade Cunningham (200-F/G-01) posted 21 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Mali posted a 22:20 lead after ten minutes. USA denied the deficit and pulled ahead for a 42:40 halftime lead. USA cleared off in the third term. They sank 31 points to open an 18-point lead. Mali answered with 24 points in the final stanza but came up short at the end. Jalen Suggs (196-G-01) had 15 points for USA. Hassan Drame (198-F/G-00) replied with 17 points and 9 rebounds for Mali.

Lithuania - France 68-73
France earned the Bronze medals in Heraklion. They beat Lithuania in the consolation final. Joel Ayayi (196-G-00) posted 33 points and 7 rebounds for les Bleues. France secured a 34:23 halftime lead. Lithuania pulled within 3 points at the final break but France sank 24 points in the fourth frame to ice the win. Karlton Dimanche (194-G-00) added 11 points for France. Klaidas Metrikis (202-PF-00) delivered 23 points for Lithuania.

5-6 Place
Russia - Puerto Rico 77-74
Russia clinched the fifth place at the championship. They topped Puerto Rico in the final game in Crete. Puerto Rico ensured a 26:17 lead after ten minutes. But Russia replied with a 43:27 rally in the next two periods to surge ahead for good. Zakhar Vedishchev (193-G-00) netted 22 points, while Anton Kvitkovskikh (200-F-00) tossed in 18 points for the winners. Serbia - Canada 110-92
Serbia rolled over Canada to earn the 7th position. Serbia got to a strong start. They unleashed 65 points in the first half to pile up an 18-point lead. Serbia added 45 points in the second half to race to the victory. Filip Petrusev (211-PF-00) dropped 25 points and collected 9 rebounds, while Marko Pecarski (208-C-00, agency: BeoBasket) added 20 points in the victory. A.J. Australia - Greece 71-52
Australia coasted past Greece to secure the ninth place in Crete. The Aussies recorded a 33:22 halftime lead. Australia did not slow down in the second half and marched to the win. Argentina outscored Latvia to clinch the 11th position at the tournament. Bautista Lugarini (203-F-01) scored 13 points to lead the Latin American side. Latvia posted a 30:24 halftime lead. Argentina however sank 50 points in the second half and snatched the win. Juan Ignacio Marcos (188-G-00) had 12 points for Argentina. Philippines - New Zealand 70-76
New Zealand finished their campaign on a high note. They beat Philippines to earn the 13th position. The Kiwis accounted for a 45:37 halftime lead. New Zealand held Philippines to just 12 points in the fourth term and raced to the win. Flynn Cameron (190-G-00) produced 21 points for New Zealand. Carl Tamayo (200-F-01) responded with 24 points and 12 rebounds for Philippines.

China - Senegal 73-90
Senegal wrapped up the campaign in Heraklion with the win. They drubbed China to end up in the 15th position. Amar Sylla (206-C/F-01) came up with 23 points and 14 rebounds for the African side. Senegal grabbed a 46:39 halftime lead. They dropped 25 points in the fourth frame to seal the win. Biram Faye (206-C-00) contributed 22 points for Senegal. Mali - Puerto Rico 84-74
Mali remained in the title quest in Heraklion. They beat Puerto Rico to reach the semifinal stage. Puerto Rico accumulated a 21:15 lead after ten minutes. But Mali replied with 44:24 run in the next two quarters to surge ahead for good. Fousseyni Drame (198-F/G-00) posted 22 points, while Oumar Ballo (208-C-02) added 21 points and 17 rebounds for Mali. Victor Rosa (195-SF-01) replied with 21 points for Puerto Rico.

Lithuania - Serbia 92-85 OT
Lithuania survived an overtime thriller versus Serbia to reach the semifinal stage. Rokas Jokubaitis (192-G-00) posted 21 points and 10 assists for the Baltic team. Lithuania led by 8 points after ten minutes but Serbia denied the deficit in the second quarter. Lithuania and Serbia went neck and neck throughout the second half and did not decide on the winner in regulation. But Lithuania sank 15 points in the extra period to rally to the win. Senegal - Lithuania 52-76
Lithuania cruised past Senegal behind 17 points from Rokas Jokubaitis. Lithuania accumulated a 36:30 halftime lead. They followed with a 27:8 run in the third term to clear off for good. Klaidas Metrikis had 12 points for the winners. Biram Faye (206-C-00) replied with 13 points for Senegal.

Australia - Canada 76-81
Canada opened win count at the championship. They nipped Australia in Group B. A.J. Lawson (201-G-00) and Karim Mane (196-G-00) posted 23 points each for the North American side. Canada dominated in the first half. They recorded a 46:36 halftime lead. Australia denied the deficit in the third term. But Canada dropped 23 points in the fourth quarter and got away with the victory. Kody Stattmann (201-G-00) replied with 21 points for Australia.

Mali defeated Latvia for the first victory at the tournament. Abdoul Coulibaly (204-F-00) produced 22 points to lead the charge. Mali accumulated a 44:37 halftime lead. They ignited a 24:12 run in the third term to build an unassailable lead. Siriman Kanoute (181-G-01) had 19 points for Mali. Arturs Kurucs (192-SG-00) answered with 21 points for Latvia.

Argentina - Russia 86-84
Argentina needed overtime to tame Russia in the opener. Francisco Caffaro (213-C-00) provided 17 points in the victory. Argentina entered the fourth period up by 7 points. But Russia used a 23:16 run to force extra period. But Argentina managed to eke out a tough win scoring 10 points in the overtime. Leandro Bolmaro (198-SF-00) had 16 points for the Latin American side. Aleksandr Ershov (197-SG-00, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) answered with 22 points for Russia.

Greece - Philippines 85-69
Greece overcame a slow start to beat Philippines in the first game in Group C. Nikos Arsenopoulos (195-G-00) posted 18 points to pace the Hellenes. Philippines jumped to a 27:20 lead at the first break. Greece however unleashed 65 points in the next three quarters to secure the winning outcome. Aristotelis Sotiriou (203-F) had 16 points and 9 rebounds for Greece. Kai Sotto (216-C-02) and Gerry Abadiano (195-F/G-01) replied with 13 points each for Philippines.

Puerto Rico - France 68-91
France coasted past Puerto Rico for the first win at the tournament. Joel Ayayi (196-G-00) posted 26 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. France established a 53:46 halftime advantage. They held Puerto Rico to just 22 points in the second half and marched to the win. Yohan Choupas (193-G-00) netted 13 points for les Bleues. Serbia crushed China to gain the first victory in Heraklion. Filip Petrusev (211-PF-00) nailed 23 points and grabbed 8 rebounds for Serbia.
