Canada U19 started the World Championship in Latvia beating South Korea U19 in the opener. The Canadian team produced a three digit number to taste 109:93 win. Canada started with 28-22 in the first period, but then scored 27 points in the next three quarters. South Korea managed to win the second period 29-27 to reduce the gap to 4 points at the halftime. The number 27 was enough in the third and the last periods. Canada won the third frame 27-25 and added 27-17 in the last quarter. Bhullar Sim paced all the winners with 24 points and 14 rebounds, while Pierre Dyshawn collected 23 points and 10 boards. Clarke Julian delivered 17 points, while Shaver Justin collected 13 points and 11 rebounds. Lee Seounghyun ended up with 25 points in the losing effort and Moon SeongGon notched 23. Kim Giyun produced 14 points for South Korea.
