Polish U19 National Team victoriously opened their World Championship campaign. They breezed past their Tunisian counterparts to improve at 1-0 record in Group A. Mateusz Ponitka scored 17 points to pace the winners. Poland opened the game with five points in a row and controlled the tempo. They built an 18:13 lead after ten minutes of action. Niedzwiedzki and Michal Michalak opened a double-digit lead midway through the second frame. Soon the margin grew at 20-point mark as Poland took over completely. They enjoyed a 46:27 lead at the interval. One-way traffic continued in the third period. Poland accumulated a comfortable 72:40 lead with one quarter to go. The Europeans never looked back en route to the victory afterwards. Michal Michalak stepped up with 15 points, while Przemyslaw Karnowski added 11 points and 7 boards in the victory. Aymen Mahmoud responded with 10 points for Tunisia. Sofian M'Rad and Maher Souabni delivered 9 points each in the loss.
