1/8 Finals Day 1: LATVIA - BRAZIL 73-88

Brazil earned the third straight victory at U19 World Championship in Latvia. The Latin American side knocked down the hosts to improve at 3-1 record in Group E. Raul Neto dropped 19 points to pace the winners. Latvia fell at 2-2 record after the loss. Latvia led right from the start. They stayed on top throughout the opening quarter recording an 18:17 lead ten minutes into the game. However Brazil answered with six straight points early in the second frame to surge in front. The visitors gradually boosted the margin to enjoy a 46:34 halftime lead. Lucas Riva and Raul Neto ensured a 16-point lead for Brazil midway through the third term. Soon Brazil gained a 20-point lead and arrived at the final break ahead by 14 points 72:58. Latvia could not get closer than 14 points in the fourth frame and had to yield at the end. Bruno Irigoyen netted 17 points, while David Rossetto contributed 14 points in the winning effort. Edmunds Dukulis answered with 22 points and 9 rebounds for Latvia. Davis Bertans accounted for 15 points in defeat.
