USA continued to roll confidently at U19 World Championship in Latvia. They opened the Qualifying Round with victory over their North American rivals. USA outgunned Canada to improve at 4-0 record in Group F. Canada slipped at 1-3 record. USA grabbed the initiative right from the start. They ensured a 21:14 lead after ten minutes. USA deepened the damage in the second quarter. They limited Canada to only 9 points to establish a 46:23 halftime lead. The United States did not slow down after the big break. Paul Hewitt team secured a 28-point lead with one quarter remaining. Canada had little chance to recover as the USA rallied to the victory at the end. James Bell knocked down 16 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in the victory. Doug McDermott added 10 points for the USA. Sim Bhullar answered with 15 points and 7 boards for Canada. Junior Lomomba and Dyshawn Pierre netted 11 points apiece in the loss.
