Argentina U19 needed overtime to send Brazil U19 out of 1/4 Finals of U19 FIBA World Championships. Argentina improved to 4-2 record, while Brazil finished with 3-3 as well as Russia and the latter advanced to the next stage. Before the game started Brazil knew that Russia has ended a three game losing streak, beating the tournament hosts Latvia. Should Argentina win Russia advance but if they lose then Brazil hold onto their spot in the playoffs. Brazil desired the win more and started with 19-8 in the opening tip. Cristiano Felicio made a dunk for 23-11 and Raul Neto nailed three for 30:22. Nicolas Copello reduced to 6 points as the teams went to the lockers. Bruno Irigoyen later tied the game at 39:39, while Cristiano Felicio made a dunk for the Brazilian lead. Argentina however won the third frame 18-13 and trailed only 42:43 after thirty minutes. Luciano Massarelli tied the game at 46:46 and Lucas Nogueira closed an improtant 7-0 run for Brazil to enjoy 53:46 with them. Franco Giorgetti cut it to 58:57 with two minutes in the game, but Felipe Vezaro scored for 60:57. Franco Giorgetti reduced to 59:60 and Raul Neto was perfect from the free throw line for 59:62. Luciano Massarelli however scored from the arc to send the teams in overtime. In extra time Argentina produced 9-7 and won the game. Lucas Nogueira had a chance to send the teams to the second overtime but missed the shot.
