Australia overcame Poland at U19 World Championship Eighth-Final Round tonight. The victory propelled the Emus at 5-1 record on top of Group E. Poland fell at 4-2 record after the loss. Jackson Aldridge stepped up with 21 points to lead the winners. Poland ensured the better start to the game. They recorded a 14:12 lead after ten minutes of action. Australia bounced back in the second period. The Emus established a 29:27 halftime advantage. The third term turned disastrous for Poland. The Emus limited their opponents to only 6 points in the frame and cleared off to a 20-point advantage. Australia wisely kept Poland at bay throughout the final quarter and rallied to a comfortable win at the end. Igor Hadziomerovic netted 14 points, while Mitchell Creek added 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Piotr Niedzwiedzki responded with 11 points for Poland. Michal Michalak contributed 9 points in defeat.
