Quarter-Finals Day 1: AUSTRALIA - SERBIA 74-93

Serbia U19 edged Australia U19 at the FIBA U19 World Championship. The European team surprised the winner of Group E 93:74 and took their spot at the Semifinal. Serbia started strong and took 22-12 after the first period.The Emus steadied in the second period, attacking the Serbians and making up some ground to go into the change rooms down by four points. The third quarter was decisive in the game. The Serbians were dominant in the all-important third period, holding the Emus to just 10 points while dropping 27 of their own. Australia won the last frame 26-24 but it was not enough to seal the win. Australia continued to fight until the final seconds but it would prove to be in vein with Aleksandar Cvetkovic putting in another stellar performance at point guard to steer Serbia to the final buzzer. Djordje Drenovac and Mitrovic led the way with 17 points each, while Aleksandar Cvetkovic netted 15. Petar Lambic followed them with 12 points in a win. Hugh Greenwood finished the night with 25 points in the losing case, whilst Anthony Drmic netted 15.
