Quarter-Finals Day 1: POLAND - LITHUANIA 75-87

Lithuania earned the spot in the U19 World Championship semifinals. They overcame Polish counterparts in the quarterfinal tonight. Jonas Valanciunas scored 26 points and grabbed impressive 24 rebounds to pace Lithuania. The Baltic team entered the game confidently. They maintained the lead and recorded a 22:15 advantage at the first break. Lithuania kept up the tempo throughout the second period. They ensured a 47:33 halftime lead. Poland tried to come back into the game in the third frame. They cut the deficit and entered the fourth frame trailing by just 7 points. But Lithuania quickly stopped the rot. They notched 23 points in the fourth frame and rallied to a comfortable win at the end. Vytenis Cizauskas tallied 13 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for Lithuania. Zygimantas Skucas and Edgaras Ulanovas added 11 points apiece in the victory. Michal Michalak responded with 29 points and 13 rebounds for Poland. Przemyslaw Karnowski contributed 16 points in the losing effort.
