Second Stage Day 3: ARGENTINA - CANADA 62-78

Canada outgunned Argentina in the fight for the quarterfinal place at the U19 World Championship. The North American team clinched the fourth position in Group E at 3-3 record. Argentina fell at 1-5 record after the loss. Trey Lyles led the winners with 21 points and 12 rebounds. It was a do-or-die battle for both sides. Canada started the game aggressively on the defensive end. They limited Argentina to 11 points in the first period to gain a 6-point lead. Canada kept Argentina at bay throughout the second period. The North American side accumulated a 42:23 halftime advantage. The teams traded baskets throughout the third period. Canada secured a 19-point buffer before the fourth frame. All Argentina could do was to cut the deficit in the final period as Canada marched to the win. Tyler Ennis nailed 17 points, while Xavier Rathan-Mayes added 16 points for the winning team. Gonzalo Torres responded with 16 points for Argentina. Pedro Barral had 9 points in the loss.
