USA stormed into the quarterfinal stage in Cairo. They bruised Mali to stay undefeated. Seven players scored in double digits for the winners. P.J. Washington accounted for 20 points and 8 caroms in the victory. USA jumped to a 30:10 lead after ten minutes. The teams exchanged baskets throughout the next two quarters before USA unleashed 41 points in the final term to ice a comfortable win. Brandon McCoy had 19 points and 13 boards in the victory. Lassana Haidara responded with 12 points for Mali.
