They fired 21 points to secure a 33:22 halftime lead. Russia dominated throughout the third term. They held Turkey to 13 points to boost their lead to as many as 20 points heading into the fourth term. Russia ignited a 21:9 run in the final period and sealed the win at the end. The Dutch youngsters kept their opponents at bay throughout the second frame. Netherlands built a 43:25 halftime advantage. Netherlands unloaded 27 points in the third frame to boost the gap at 31-point mark heading into the fourth frame. Netherlands never looked back en route to the victory. The Azzurri led throughout the second quarter. They arrived at halftime up by 16 points 38:22. Italy limited their opponents to just 9 points in the third term. Italy established a 49:31 lead at the final break. Belgium scored just 6 points in the fourth quarter and had to surrender at the end. Serbia - Portugal 58-54 Serbia crowned Division B Champions at the U16 European Championship. They overcame Portugal 58:54 in the Final game in Matosinhos, Portugal on Sunday. Both teams as well as Denmark head to Division A for the next year. Both teams got the Promotion to Division A in the Semifinal clashes but both of them desired to take the crown. Portugal managed to score the first 6 points of the game and had 14:8 lead at the end of the first 10 minutes. Serbia woke up later in the half and Katanic Aleksandra tied the game at 20:20. Subasic Jovana posted two for 24:22, while Chelsea Guimaraes (185-PF-97) and Maria Kostourkova (188-C-97) ensured a 25:24 halftime advantage. Serbia looked better in the third period and took 41:37 lead after 30 minutes. They led in the whole fourth frame and reached a final 58:54 victory. Bogicevic Snezana paced all the winners with 15 points and 12 rebounds, while Subasic Jovana added 14 points. Jovana Nogic (180-G-97) scored 12 and Katanic Aleksandra put up 8. Maria Kostourkova answered with 22 points and 14 rebounds in defeat and Chelsea Guimaraes collected 14 points and 10 boards. The Danish side won over Finland 76:67 in the game for the third place and advanced to the top division. Both teams realized the importance of the game. Denmark started the game with 24-15 lead, but Finland replied with immediate 23-13 surge to take 1-point lead at the halftime. Both teams scored 17 points each in the third quarter for 55:54 on the board. Salmenkivi gave Finland 57:56 lead, but then Denmark pushed the tempo for good and sealed the victory. Enna Pehadzic (176-G/F-97) was unstoppable with 24 points and 10 rebounds, while Sarah Mortensen (182-F-97) had 15 points and 12 boards. Larssen Sophia netted 10, while Gardner Grace and Noerregaard Ann had 8 each. Riina Karkkainen (166-PG-98) answered with 19 points in defeat and Karsten Sandra shot 16. Israel surprised the opponents with a 19-9 start in the game. Israel led 10 points at the halftime, but then could not match Poland in the second half. The latter posted a 15-10 rally in the third period and finished the game with a 20-11 surge. Trailing 50:52, Piedel Kinga and Marta Wdowiuk (179-SF-98) closed an 8-0 run fro Poland to bring the necessary win. Piedel Kinga paced all the winners with 18 points and Marta Wdowiuk collected 16 points and 16 rebounds. Kotula Martyna produced 7 and Stawinska Karolina added 6 points. United Kingdom - Belarus 47-46 United Kingdom beat Belarus for the 7th place at the U16 European Championship in Division B. United Kingdom grabbed a thrilling 47:46 win in their last game in Portugal. Belarus posted a 13:10 win in the first period and led 2 points at the halftime. Skrobko Viktoria gave Belarus 35:24 lead midway through the third period, but Belarus could not win. United Kingdom reduced to 35:38 at the end of the third period and then managed to grab the victory. Trailing in the whole fourth period as well, Laing Rhianna-Mae made the final shot for United Kingdom to bring them a 47:46 win. Norton Shanice stepped up with 12 points for the winners and Abigail Lowe (178-G-98) nailed 11. Laing Rhianna-Mae and Savannah Wilkinson (178-SG-98) poured in 7 points each. Slovenia - Ukraine 79-53 Slovenia better Ukraine in Guifoes at the U16 European Championship in Division B. Slovenia finished the tournament on the 9th position after a 79:53 victory. Ukraine dropped at 1-1 record as well but allowed Luxembourg to take the higher spot and finished on the 11th position. Slovenia needed a victory for the 9th place as they lost the group to Luxembourg few days ago. They started with 19:13 run and added 20-8 lead in the second period. Moreover Slovenia posted a massive 30-21 surge in the third quarter and did not mind 10-11 rally in the last stanza. Micunovic Ela led the way with 20 points and Anamaria Prezelj (177-F-97) nailed 14. Ocvirk Larisa collected 12 points and 12 rebounds, whilst Senicar Marusa also scored 12. Romania meanwhile ended up on the 14th place as they lost to Switzerland earlier in Group K. Germany started the game with 11:10 and added defensive 14-4 rally in the second frame. Moreover Germany won both quarters of the second half and sealed the last victory. They won the third period 10-9 and finished the game with a 26-23 run. Ireland won Group L with 2-0 record to finish eh Classification Round for 15-17 places with another win. Norway meanwhile ended up on the 17th place. Ireland scored the first 14 points in the game and won the first period 17:2. Diggins Kelly later increased to 28:8 and Olivia Dupuy (175-F-97) closed the half at 36:17. Norway managed to win the third period 15-14, but Ireland replied with a 15-13 rally at the end for the final success. Diggins Kelly top-scored for the winners with 17 points and 12 rebounds, while Sarah Kenny (180-F/C-97) collected 16 points and 14 rebounds. Portugal - Finland 71-47 Portugal beat Finland at home court and get Division A promotion for the next season. Portugal won 71:47 and remained undefeated at the U16 European Championship in Division B. More than 3500 came to support the home side at the Senhora da Hora (Matosinhos). Portugal won the first period 13:10 and the added 18-10 rally in the second frame for 11-point halftime advantage. Portugal also looked better in the second half and deserved the win. They posted a 23-11 rally in the third period and won the last stanza 17-16. Carolina Goncalves (173-F-97) top-scored for the winners with 14 points and Kostourkova Maria collected 13 points and 17 rebounds. De Almeida Sofia notched 12, whilst Maianca Umabano (174-F-97) had 10. Makela Sini nailed 9 points in a loss, whilst Karsten Sandra had 7. Johanna Borenius (178-F-97) posted 6, while Augustin Nina and Aijanen Heta notched 5 apiece.
Serbia - Denmark 77-46 Serbia became the first Finalist of the U16 European Championship in Division B. Serbia won over Denmark 77:46 and advanced to Division A for the next year. Denmark will have another chance tomorrow as they will need to win the game for the third place in order to advance. Serbia comes back to Division A with another confident win. They started the game with 25-8 and added 17-8 rally in the second period. Denmark managed to reply with a 15-13 run, but could not stay tough at the end of the game. Serbia closed the game with a 22-15 rally and sealed a comfortable win. Jovana Nogic (180-G-97) top-scored for the winners with 18 points and Snezana Bogicevic (176-PG-97) as well as Aleksandra Katanic (172-PG-97) added 13 each. Poland grabbed a 65:63 win and will take on Israel tomorrow in the game for the 5th place. Belarus meanwhile will play against England in the game for 7-8 places. Poland opened the game with 21:13 lead, but Belarus replied with a 24-17 rally in the second frame. Again Poland won the third period 11-6 and reached 49:43. Both teams however could not score for about 5 minutes at the end of the period, but then Lappo Anna broke the silence for 49:44 early in the fourth. Valeriya Smarshko (170-SG-97) gave Belarus a 63:62 lead, but Szloser Alicja and then Kotula ensured the final win for Poland. Wdowiuk Marta top-scored for the winners with 22 points and 12 rebounds and Kotula Martyna followed her with 21. They overcame England 62:50 and will take on Poland tomorrow in the game for the 5th place. England meanwhile will play against Belarus in the game for 7-8 places. Israel posted a narrow 13:12 lead in the first period and then added massive 21-11 surge in the second frame. Moreover Israel won the third quarter 12-10 and had 46:33 lead after Yuli Grossman (171-PG-97)'s shot. England replied with a 17-16 rally in the last stanza but could not come closer to the winners. Yuli Grossman and Levy Shir top-scored for the winners with 11 points and 10 rebounds, while Sasson Michal notched 9. Tal Lev and Tulman Amit delivered 8 points each in a win. They added massive 15-5 surge and led 20 points at the halftime. Slovenia however looked better in the second half and did their best to recover. They won the third period 16-12 and reduced to 1 point in the last minute. Slunecko however brought Luxembourg the last points for the final 63:60 win. Lisa Jablonowski top-scored for the winners with 20 points and 15 rebounds, while Pauly Hannah posted 12. Goergen Jessy poured in 10, while Jil Baum (171-G-97) had 7. Ocvirk Larisa finished the night with 13 points and Anamaria Prezelj (177-F-97) brought 11. Jakobcic Maja and Ela Micunovic (181-G-97) ended up with 8 points each in a loss.

Switzerland meanwhile finished the group with 1-1 record. Patricia Brossmann (181-SF-97) and Herminjard Evita exchanged the early baskets in the opening tip, while Zdravevska Laura gave Germany 12:6 lead. They had 19:14 lead at the end of the first period and Zdravevska Laura scored later for 29:20. Germany led 38:24 at the halftime and then both teams managed to score only 11 points in the third period. Herminjard Evita reduced to 30:43 at the end of 30 minutes, while Tolusso Safie cut it to 8 points. Germany however pushed the tempo for good in the end of the game and increased to final 13 points. Norway meanwhile will take on Ireland tomorrow and hopes to improve their 0-1 record. Estonia scored 10 points in the first and then the second period. It was enough in the first frame to take 10:8 lead, but then Norway replied with 15 points to take 23:20 halftime advantage. The second half however fully belonged to Estonia. They won the third period 17-8 and finished the game with 14-10 rally. Uiga Kadri stepped up with 17 points and 14 rebounds, while Kai-Brith Kalda (186-C-97) collected 13 points and 22 rebounds. Romania looked better in the second half and replied with two narrow victories. It was not however enough to win the game. Andreea Cretu (178-SG-98) reduced to 63:66 with a minute to go, but Tolusso Safie made the final result from the free throw line. Marie Steiner (173-G-98) paced all the winners with 15 points and Tolusso Safie collected 14 points and 14 rebounds. Nancy Fora (173-G-97) scored 11 and Herminjard Evita added 10. Estonia won the first period 21:18 and led three points at the halftime. Ireland however took control of the game at the second half and posted two victories in the rest of the game. They posted 20-11 rally in the third period and then finished the game with 20-17 rally in the last stanza. Dupuy Olivia scored the last points for the winners, while Uiga Kadri made the final result in the game. Sarah Kenny (180-F/C-97) and Dupuy Olivia top-scored for the winners with 23 points and Kelly Diggins (178-F-97) notched 12. Herlihy Hollie followed them with 10 points in the winning effort. Ukraine - Luxembourg 62-60 Ukraine needs 2 overtimes to beat Luxembourg at the Classification Round for 9-11 places in Division B of the U16 European Championship. Trailing in the majority of the game, Ukraine survived a thriller and won the game 62:60. Luxembourg dominated the first half and posted two victories in the first two quarters. They started with 14-13 lead and added massive 18-6 in the second frame. Ukraine did their best and managed to recover in the rest of the game. They replied with a 9-5 rally in the third period and then tied the score after 17-8 surge in the fourth period. Both teams scored 9 points in the first extra time, but then Ukraine needed an 8-6 run in the second overtime to win the game. Alina Lakh (164-PG-98) top-scored for the winners with 16 points and Natalia Bulavytska (169-PG-98) as well as Olga Yatskovets (183-C-97) poured in 9 each. Serbia - Switzerland 86-52 Serbia achieve second straight win at the U16 European Championship in Division B. They overcame Switzerland 86:52 for 2-0 record. The Swiss side suffered their first loss and dropped at 1-1 record.

Both teams exchanged the narrow victories in the second half for the final result. Anna Lappo (187-C-97) and Miasnikova made the final score in the game for 12-point Belarus victory.

Ukraine - Serbia 41-72 Serbia demolish Ukraine in the opener of the U16 European Championship in Division B. The Serbian team started the tournament with a confident 72:41 win.
Serbia scored the first 8 points in the game and never looked behind after. The Balkan team grabbed 15:7 lead after the first 10 minutes of the game and added 13-6 rally in the second quarter. In the second half Serbia posted 22 points in the last two frames to ensure the comfortable win. Serbia won the third period 22-17 and finished the game with 22-11 burst.
Stojiljkovic Marija paced all the winners with 13 points and Katanic Aleksandra notched 11. Snezana Bogicevic (176-PG-97) poured in 9, whilst Subasic Jovana and Zec Katarina delivered 8 each. Switzerland erupted with a 29-6 surge and dominated the whole game. The Swiss side also added 16-5 and enjoyed a 45:11 halftime advantage. Evita Herminjard (175-G-98) nailed three for 48:11 early in the third period and then Franchina Meline brought 54:16. Luxembourg - Finland 48-45 Luxembourg surprise Finland in Day 1 action of the U16 European Championship of Division B. Luxembourg opened the campaign with a 48:45 victory in Group B.
Luxembourg opened the game with 11:6 lead in the first period and added 13-12 rally in the second frame. Trailing 10 points in the second period, Finland came back with an 11-0 run and Aijanen Heta gave her side 31:30 advantage. Luxembourg however managed to finished the frame with a 37:32 lead and then Anne Slunecko (180-SF-97) scored for 44:36 with 3 minutes to go. Finland reduced to the final score, but could not win the game.

Portugal however dominated the second half and posted two comfortable victories. They won the third period 26-10 and added massive 27-4 burst in the last stanza.
