FINALLithuania - Russia 66-73Russia conquered the title in Skopje. They outscored Lithuania in the championship game tonight. Anastasiia Kosu (183-F-05) came up with 27 points and 14 rebounds to pace the winners. Lithuania sank 24 points in the first term to take a 4-point lead. They arrived at halftime up by three points 38:35. But Russia denied the deficit in the third term. They eked out a 54:53 lead at the final intermission. Russia held their opponents to just 13 points in the fourth period and raced to the trophy. Sabrina Dovnar-Zapolskaia (169-G-03) produced 15 points in the win. Juste Jocyte (184-F-05) replied with impressive 33 points and 9 rebounds for Lithuania. 3-4 PlaceFrance - Spain 57-72Spain stepped onto the pedestal in Skopje. They edged France to clinch the Bronze medals. Spain cleared off to a 42:24 halftime lead. France cut the distance at 11 points at the final break. But Spain held France to just 14 points in the fourth term and rallied to the win. Chisomaga Okafor (185-PF-03) produced 23 points and 10 rebounds, while Elena Buenavida (174-PG-04) added 16 points and 9 caroms for Spain. Leila Lacan (174-PG-04) replied with 21 points for France. 5-6 PlaceBelgium - Italy 54-62Italy toppled Belgium to earn the fifth position at the championship. Italy dominated in the first half. They grabbed a 37:21 halftime lead. Belgium pulled closer in the second half but could not avoid the loss. Laura Toffali (170-SG-03) produced 13 points, while Carlotta Zanardi (175-G-05) had 12 points in the win. Julia Franquin (185-F-03) replied with 20 points and 9 rebounds for Belgium. 7-8 PlaceCzech Republic - Latvia 80-45Czech Republic outscored Latvia to earn the 7th position in Skopje. Czech Republic recorded a 37:22 halftime lead. They followed with a strong 43:23 second half run to seal the win. Laura Miksikova (181-G-03) delivered 12 points, while Valentyna Kadlecova (04) added 11 points in the victory. Vanesa Jasa (178-SF-03) and Marta Leimaneleimane (178-SF-03) replied with 8 points each for Latvia. 9-10 PlaceFinland - Germany 42-63Germany ended their campaign in Skopje with victory. They drubbed Finland to earn the 9th place. Germany claimed a 35:18 halftime lead. They held Finland to just 24 points in the second half and raced to the victory. Franka Wittenberg (175-PG-03) and Olivia Borsutzki (178-F-03) netted 13 points each for the winners. Klaara Mekkonen (185-C-03) replied with 10 points for Finland. 11-12 PlaceHungary - Greece 65-52Hungary edged Greece to earn the 11th position in Skopje. Hungary recorded a 39:21 halftime lead. They controlled the tempo in the second half and rallied to the victory. Lili Krasovec (187-PF-03) posted 16 points, while Virag Pfeiffer (168-G-04) added 15 points in the win. Eleni Bosgana (193-F-03) replied with 12 points and 9 rebounds for Greece. 13-14 PlacePoland - Denmark 56-68Denmark claimed a crucial win over Poland to remain in Division A. Poland and Denmark were tied at 27 after twenty minutes. But Denmark dropped 41 points in the second half and rallied to the win. Michala Bork (174-F-03) had 21 points, while Lisa Michaelsen (185-C-03) added 12 points and 8 rebounds in the victory. Maja Kozlowska (186-C-03) replied with 12 points for Poland. 15-16 PlaceSweden - Turkey 50-55Turkey overcame Sweden to finish their campaign on a high note. Turkey jumped to a 37:18 halftime lead. Sweden cut the distance to 4 points at the final break. But Turkey held their opponents to just 12 points in the fourth term to snatch the win.
