Albania fired past hosting Gibraltar to earn the second place in Group B. The visitors secured a 44-14 halftime lead and rolled to the win after the big break. Viola Gjyzeli (167-PG-2009) banked in 16 points, while Melissa Nikaj (170-SG-2008) added 15 points for Albania. Isabelle Dalmedo (178-C-2008) notched 14 points and 9 rebounds for Gibraltar. Malta - Moldova 66-31 Malta stormed past Moldova to clinch the top position in Group B. Malta recorded a 45-15 halftime lead and never looked back en route to the win. Claire Portelli (159-F-2010) tossed in 25 points for Malta. Ksenia Alfiorova (174-SF-2008) had 9 points for Moldova. Azerbaijan - Cyprus 68-45 Azerbaijan toppled Cyprus to win Group A. They built a 40-22 halftime advantage and cruised to the win in the second half. Angelina Ismayilova (178-SF-2008) knocked down 28 points, while Sitara Abbasova (180-F-2008) and Leyla Allahverdiyeva (170-F-2008) accounted for 12 points each. Anna Koukouri (172-PG-2008) responded with 8 points for Cyprus. Georgia - Armenia 83-71 Georgia claimed the first win in Gibraltar. They held off Armenia for 1-2 record. Georgia went on a 25-15 rally in the fourth stanza to snatch the win. Ana Mestumrishvili (2009) hauled in 21 points, while Elene Niguriani (2008) had 19 points and 12 rebounds for Georgia. Lilit Gevorkova (178-C-2008) posted 22 points and 9 rebounds for Armenia. |
