Swedish Basketball League (Basketligan) History
League status
The Basketligan is the first-tier professional basketball league in Sweden. Basketligan was established in 1954.
The Basketligan sits above the Superettan which effectively forms the second-tier of Swedish basketball.
At the end of regular season, top 8 teams qualify to the play-offs.
The bottom team is relegated to Superettan.
Limits of non-Swedish players per team: 3 import players (non-Europeans), 10 Bosman players (with European passport) . Total number of allowed imports and Bosmans is 10.
