Sodertalje Kings win Basketligan - May 10, 2014

Sodertalje - Norrkoping 92-80

Sodertalje are named Basketligan champions. They overcame Norrkoping in the decisive seventh game of the dramatic championship series. Toni Bizaca (202-F-82, agency: XL Basketball Agency) was named the Finals MVP after the game. Sodertalje Kings led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 23-of-24 free shots (95.8 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Sodertalje Kings especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. It was a great evening for American point guard John Roberson (180-88, college: Texas Tech) who led his team to a victory scoring 32 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists (made all of his ten free throws !!!). The former international guard Martin Pahlmblad (193-86) helped adding 17 points. At the losing side American swingman Jermont Horton (198-84, college: Rutgers-Newark) responded with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import forward William Walker (200-87, college: Bethel, IN) scored 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Norrkoping Dolphins players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
