No shocking result in a game when French JSF Nanterre (2-0) beat at home Portuguese Benfica (0-2) 80-68 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by JSF Nanterre. Benfica was better in second period 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American players dominated the game. Forward Kyle Weems (198-89, college: Missouri St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 6 rebounds. Swingman Mykal Riley (198-85, college: Alabama) contributed with 9 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four JSF Nanterre players scored in double figures. JSF Nanterre's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Ronald Slay (203-81, college: Tennessee, agency: David Lee services) replied with 23 points and 8 rebounds and guard Jobey Thomas (194-80, college: Charlotte) added 20 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Benfica. JSF Nanterre will face Belfius Mons-Hainaut in Quaregnon in the next round. Benfica will play on the road against Joensuun Kataja.
