Russian team had 9 points more than Israeli in first quarter, but later neither Ural nor Hapoel could gain advantage for longer time. Ruslan Avleev (197-F-76) had a great game with 29 points (12/13 free throws), 7 rebounds and 4 steals. Zakhar Pachoutine (195-G-74) was very helpful with 10 assists and 16 points. Michael Wright (202-F-80, college: Arizona) (21 points, 4 rebounds) played great 4th quarter with 10 points. But he was fouled out 2 minutes before the end of this period. When Lior Lubin (189-G-77) (18 points, 5 rebounds, 4 steals) made 2 free throws 35 seconds befor end of 4th quarter Israeli thought that they won the game but Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf (186-G-69, college: LSU) (19 points, 3 assists) led up Ural to extra period after 2 point shot. Hapoel won last part of this exhibition. A Big star of this game was Dror Hajaj (178-G-78) (178-G-78) who shoot 8 of his 26 points in extra period, he had also 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Gary PidwillMaroussi Athens 92 Hapoel Tel Aviv 74 TIM-Maroussi beat Hapoel Tel-Aviv in a thrilling encounter, and now will face Russian giants, Unics Kazan in the FIBA Europe League final on Saturday. The Greek side had on a transitional 5-minute spell in the 3rd, in which theyclawed back a deficit of 9-points, and gained an 11-point advantage and just pushed Tel Aviv out of the game. Maroussi had a slow start in the first half, but that spell in the 3rd left Hapoel with no where to go. Hapoel looked the better of the two sides, until Maroussi hit form at the right time. Hapoel seemed to lose the confidence, and Maroussi took advantage, and taking the lead in the 3rd, and they never looked back. Maroussi's Vasilis Spanoulis (192-G-82), was in great form with 21 pts and 5 assists. Ivan Grgat gave Maroussi the inside muscle, and he got 15 pts for the cause. Hapoel's talented center, Yaniv Green grabbed 14 rebounds and 18 points for an impressive double double. Jasmin Hukic claimed 15 pts, but was disappointing from the arc, with 1/8 from downtown. Hapoel will now play Ural Great for 3rd place, but it's Unics and Maroussi to decide the Final on Saturday.

Piotr CiszekUNICS (RUS) - Ural Great (RUS) 93-68 Unics beat Perm and took revange with Ural for last lose in Russian Cup. Home side made certain victory in first quarter which they won 32-16. Saulius Stombergas (202-F-73, agency: Interperformances) had half of this points. Ural started game without they 2 best scorers (Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf (186-G-69, college: LSU) and Ksystof Lavrinovic (210-C-79)) but they entrance into the game did not change anything. Kazan won the first half 48-33. In the second half they kept the advantage up . Strombergas led up their team to win with 29 points, 6/8 3-pointers, Martin Muursepp (206-F-74) also played good game with 16 points and 7 rebounds. In the losing team Lavrinovic played the best part. He had 16 points (7/12 shooting) and 4 rebounds. Stanislav Eremine was very happy after the game he said that he was not that pleased with the quality of the game, but he was pleased with the performance

The Rest of the World won the All Star Game in Kiev but game was exciting to the end. First half was won by World Stars by 5 points. Michael Wright (202-F-80, college: Arizona) took the responsibility for his team and he had 14 points, Eurelijus Zukauskas (218-C-73, agent: Capicchioni Luciano) also had 14 points. It was some showtime in this part of the game. Eric Campbell had a monstrous 2-hand alley-oop dunk and Ashante Johnson (204-F-76, college: Kansas) had dunk in traffic at the end of first half. Europe Stars played better in third quarter and after Saulius Stombergas (202-F-73, agent: Capicchioni Luciano) dunk they lead 61-60 before final 10 minutes. The Rest of the World did't lose higher this period through Wright's points. Last quarter was even until last 90 seconds. Strombergas shoted 3-pointer and was 80-83 for Americans, but Johnson also hit 3-pointer and Europe Stars couldn't gain on opponents. Michael Wright (202-F-80, college: Arizona) from Hapoel Tel Aviv finished game with 23 points and 10 rebouds and got MVP award.
