Umana Reyer Venezia clinched Fiba Europe Cup title. They swept the Finals versus Italian rivals Scandone Avellino. Venezia claimed a narrow home win in return leg today to earn the trophy. Marquez Haynes (191-PG-86, college: Texas Arlington) and Hrvoje Peric (203-F-85) nailed 16 points each for the hosts. Venezia entered the game with an 8-point advantage from the opening leg. They stretched to double digits after the first period. Venezia used a 26:19 run in the second term to ensure a comfortable lead. But Avellino got back into the game in the second half. The visitors pulled within two points 61:63 at the final intermission. Avellino surged ahead in the fourth period. They posted a 74:71 advantage with under four minutes to go. However Venezia quickly restored the lead and marched to a narrow decisive victory at the end. Austin Daye (211-F-88, college: Gonzaga, agency: Alti Sport) tossed in 15 points for the champions. Jason Rich (191-G-86) answered with 32 points for Avellino. Kyrylo Fesenko (216-C-86) tallied 21 points and 15 boards in the loss.
