Second Stage Round 2: Avtodor - TU/Rock 105-106

Important game to mention about took place in Saratov. Estonian TU/Rock (1-1) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging Russian Avtodor (0-1) 106-105 in the fight for the second place. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 20-16 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. TU/Rock shot the lights out from three sinking 19 long-distance shots on high 57.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Janar Talts (205-83) saved the victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds. Gert Dorbek (193-85) contributed with 24 points and 6 assists for the winners. American swingman Micah Downs (195-86, college: Gonzaga) replied with 22 points and 7 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Courtney Fortson (180-88, college: Arkansas, agency: Three Eye Sports) added 15 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists in the effort for Avtodor. Four TU/Rock and five Avtodor players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. TU/Rock will face Den Bosch on the road in the next round. Avtodor will play against Deutsche Bank Skyliners in Frankfurt and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
