The game between closely ranked teams ended with Estonian TU/Rock's (0-2) home loss to Italian AV Cantu (2-0) in Tartu 83-87 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 27-22 charge, which allowed them to win the game. AV Cantu made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. American power forward JaJuan Johnson (208-89, college: Purdue) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points and 9 rebounds. U.S. Virgin Islands-Puerto Rican point guard Walter Hodge (183-86, college: Florida) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 assists for the winners. Canadian-Lithuanian point guard Evaldas Zabas (188-88) replied with 26 points and 6 rebounds and Janar Talts (205-83) added 17 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for TU/Rock. Five AV Cantu and four TU/Rock players scored in double figures. AV Cantu will face Chalon/Saor on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. TU/Rock will play against Enisey in Krasnoyarsk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
