Qualifying Round Round 2: Antwerp - Tsmoki-Minsk 89-80

Antwerp advanced into the EuroChallenge regular season. The Giants prevailed against visiting Minsk-2006 in the second leg of the EuroChallenge Qualifying Round. Darnell Wilson scored 17 points and grabbed 5 boards to pace the Belgian team. Antwerp surged ahead early in the game. They posted a 15:12 lead before four straight points from the visitors gave those a 16:15 advantage. The teams traded baskets before the Giants established a 23:21 lead at the first break. The hosts used a 10:1 run to take a 43:31 advantage late in the half. Antwerp piled up a 49:39 advantage at the big break. The Belarusian team quickly cut the deficit at 5-point mark in the third quarter. But the home team did not allow their opponents any closer. Brown ensured a 69:62 lead for the Giants with ten minutes to go. Dzianis Korshuk tipped off the final term with a three-pointer to bring back hope for Minsk-2006. Sander and Tywain McKee drew things level at 69 midway through the period. Darnell Wilson and Moors combined for next 10 points of the Giants and Antwerp secured a 79:72 lead. Hopkins and Donkor produced an 84:76 advantage for the home side with under two minutes remaining. Uladzimir Charko and Aliaksandr Kudrautsau replied with four points but Donkor hit a three-pointer and Antwerp escaped with a needed win at the end. Trent Strickland knocked down 15 points for the Giants. Timothy Black added 13 points and 7 assists in the win. Tywain McKee replied with 18 points for Minsk-2006. Dzianis Korshuk delivered 10 points in the loss.
