Qualifying Round Round 2: Triumph - Lugano Tigers 66-81

Lugano advanced into the EuroChallenge regular season. The Swiss champions shocked Triumph in Russia to rally into the next round of the tournament. Mohammed Abukar stepped up with 22 points and 6 rebounds to pace the Tigers. Triumph entered the game having a 6-point advantage after the starting clash. The hosts pulled in front early in the encounter and led 16:11 with just over four minutes to go in the quarter. However Stockalper knocked down five points in a 7:0 run that put the Tigers ahead 18:16 after ten minutes. Michael Efevberha and Mladjan connected from beyond the arc to give Lugano a 31:24 lead midway through the second period. Michael Efevberha stretched the gap at 8-point mark. Soon Draughan gave the Swiss team an 11-point lead. Triumph got closer but still trailed by 7 points at the interval. Sean Finn nailed 9 points in the third stanza as the Tigers stayed in front. Lugano ensured a 62:52 advantage with ten minutes remaining in the game. Mohammed Abukar nailed five points in a row opening a 70:57 lead midway through the final stanza. Draughan and Sean Finn extended the advantage to as many as 16 points. Triumph did not come up with any sort of answer in the dying minutes as Lugano coasted to the victory. Sean Finn notched 16 points and 19 rebounds for Lugano. Michael Efevberha contributed 15 points for the winners. Andrei Trushkin replied with 23 points for Lugano. Ilya Syrovatko nailed 17 points in the loss.
