Qualifying Round Round 2: Ploiesti - Khimik 91-86

Khimik reached the EuroChallenge regular season despite the loss in Romania. Ploiesti claimed a 5-point victory at home court but could not overcome a 7-point deficit from the first game. Khimik entered the game confidently as they spurred in front. The lead changed hands for several times throughout the first quarter. Ploiesti posted a 27:25 lead after ten minutes. Doneal Mack and Catalin Burlacu gave the Romanian team to a 37:31 lead midway through the second term. But Curtis Millage allowed Khimik to level things up at 44 twenty minutes into the game. The teams kept very close during the third period. Catalin Burlacu and Doneal Mack capped the period with four points in a row to give Ploiesti a 67:61 lead. Khimik tipped off the fourth quarter with a 10:1 run to surge ahead. The hosts pulled ahead once again but Curtis Millage replied with four points to knot things up at 79 with 57 seconds to go. Drezga, Toni Bizaca and Alexander Kolchenko went deadly from the stripe to keep Khimik in the needed range. Doneal Mack poured in six points to give the home team a 5-point advantage with 5 seconds to go but Ploiesti ran out of time allowing Khimik to advance into the next round of the tournament. Curtis Millage tallied 22 points, 5 boards and 5 assists to pace Khimik. Toni Bizaca accounted for 18 points in defeat. Catalin Burlacu top-sc0red with 34 points for Ploiesti. Doneal Mack chipped in 18 points in the victory.
