Regular Season Round 2: Benfica - Lugano Tigers 89-84

Benfica recorded the first victory in the group as they held off Lugano Tigers in Lisbon. In the last game of Tuesday Portugal team registered 89:84 win to tie both records at 1-1. Efevberha made an early jump shot for the guests and Abukar scored for 8:5. The team from Switzerland looked better in the first 10 minutes of the game and as a result they took 22.18 lead. Moreover a 4-0 run in the second quarter gave them a 26:18 lead as Schneiderman made a jump shot. Efevberha scored for 34:29 and Abukar delivered for 47:33. Benfica on the other side replied with 5-o run as Ben Reed closed the half at 47:38. The third quarter completely belonged to the hosts that erupted with 27-17 in it. Again Ben Reed scored for 60:54, while Schneiderman nailed three at the end of the period. Ben Reed nailed another shot from the far distance to give his side 68:64 in the start of the last frame. Lugano responded with 10 consecutive points and Abukar scored for 74:68. Henry nailed three for the return lead at 76:75 and Evans scored for 82:76. Ben Reed went on a free throw line at the very end to close the game with two free throws. Ben Reed and Gregory Jenkins scored 22 points each to lead the hosts. Sergio Ramos added 17 points for the winning side. Mohammed Abukar stepped up with impressive 28 points and 10 rebounds for Lugano Tigers in defeat.
