Regular Season Round 3: Etha - Zadar 78-66

Etha finally recorded their first EuroChallenge victory this season. They opened the tournaments regular season with two consecutive losses but yesterday defeated Zadar in Nicosia. Tarick Johnson stepped up with 20 points to lead the hosts. Zadar and Etha are now tied at 1-2 record in Group G. Etha started the game strongly scoring first four points. Marko Car and Mario Dundovic brought Zadar back straight away as they knotted things up at 8. But the hosts increased the tempo and ran away for a 22:16 first break advantage. Etha used a 7:0 run midway through the second period to jump to a 30:22 advantage. Soon Tutt opened a double-digit lead for the home side. Etha crowned the first half with a 12:2 run to take a 44:30 halftime lead. Brown and Ive Ivanov tried to drag Zadar within striking distance as they narrowed the deficit at 9 points in the third frame. Batur put Zadar even closer but Etha controlled the situation as they recorded a 58:46 lead at the final intermission. Zadar never got closer than 9 points in the final period and had to surrender at the end. Valdas Dabkus provided 13 points and 8 rebounds for Etha. Ive Ivanov replied with 12 points for Zadar. Marko Car and Mario Dundovic accounted for 11 points each in the loss.
