Regular Season Round 4: Zadar - Karsiyaka 82-77

Date: December 7, 2010
Despite the win, hosts can feel disapointed with the margin, which now doesn't cover the one in their previous match in Turkey, won by Turkish team 88-81. This could be the shortest possible line to describe tonight's game, played in Vinjik,KK Zadar in front of cca. 1500 viewrs. KK Zadar open the game very good and with autority making a 9-0 run , after Pinar Karsiyaka SK Izmir open the game with first points. After that Pinar Karsiyaka SK Izmir showed some resistance and came close to 13-11. But, that was it for Hakan Demir's team in first quarter which ended with 26-13 lead for the hosts. Second quarter continued in the same rhytm, as KK Zadar completed the 24-4 run to gain a comfortable 25 points lead in 15th minute of the game, with Tomas succesfully made free throw to complete his three point play. Players went to the locker room while board was showing 49-27 after 20 minutes played.Leading roles in buliding that lead were played by two PG's Ivan Tomas (193-G-81, agency: Agency No 10), who scored 11, and Jakov Vladovic (186-G-83) who added 10.Also, 8 of KK Zadar's 12 players scored at least 2 points, which surely helped those two. Third quater started with Ive Ivanov (201-C-85)'s one-man-show , in which he scored 6 points and helped his team to preserve the big lead, 55-36, after 4 minutes in secon half, and ended with Marko Car's buzzer-beater for 70-48 score on the board. Same player felll pretty bad , failing to score a lay up on the start of the fourth, so he went out to take medical treatmant. And after that nothin was same on the court, it ws like two other teams are playing. Karsiyka took control over the match, led by great American trio David Holston (170-G-86, college: Chicago St.), Osiris Eldridge (191-G-88, agency: N.E.T., college: Illinois St.) and Andre Smith. Those three players almost led their team to a complete comeback, but luckily fot he hosts, game ended with Jovo Stanojevic's lay up and result 82-77. KK Zadar was lead by Ive Ivanov (18 points, 7 rebounds),while Tomas added 15 and Vladovic 12 with 4 assists. Their guests can thank mostly to Eldrige who netted 18 , and Smith (13 points 15 rebounds) for such small loss, which gives them advatage in possible tie-breaking for the first or secon place in group.(by Ivan Ilakovac)
